CTD when using Dragon Aspect Shout

I don't know how long it has been a problem, as I only ran into it recently when actually deciding to use it, but whenever I use the Dragon Aspect shout of any number of words on a female character, the game crashes to the desktop.

 

I did some testing and found that it doesn't happen on male characters, only on females or any race. I switched the character from female to male, and the shout cast just fine, but when I switched back and did it again, the game crashed. It crashed when used as female of other races, too.

 

I am guessing, then, that this has to do with mods or something else that affects only my female characters. The things that come to mind are CBBE, Bodyslide, Vanilla Outfits Bodyslided (with HDT-PE), Caliente's Vanilla Outfits for CBBE, HDT Physics Extensions, HDT Breast and Butt Physics, and XPMSE. I have no mods that change shouts

 

As far as I know, Caliente's Vanilla Outfits for CBBE do not modify Dragonplate or the Ethereal Dragonplate armor that the shout actually uses. Vanilla Outfits Bodyslided w/ HDT-PE modified them, though I did my best to make sure all of the proper bodyslided armors were installed and built in Bodyslide. Even so, I can't ignore that I may have missed something there in building the outfits, or the fact that there may be skeletal / mesh problems in there somewhere causing conflict with the shout.

 

Any help on this subject would be much appreciated, though I am continuing to try things to see what the problem may be.

So umm.. I don't know if anyone still is reading this post, but I want to help so.. The mod: Vanilla Outfits Bodyslided (with HDT-PE).. Most people batch all outfits using Bodyslide's group filter feature, because of this, a folder with some broken nifs is created at skyrim/Data/meshes/DLC02/effects. This folder can be deleted and all of a sudden, (after FNIS and such) is ran, you can use it again! But.. Oh no! You notice that the vanilla effects look.. Well it doesn't contour to CBBE body, you'll notice the bust will clip through so.. IF it really bothers you as to how it looks so.. Bad, in vanilla effects, and want it to contour to your CBBE body, delete said folder mentioned above..

-Go to bodyslide

-DON'T batch build, go to the individual outfit called VOBS Dragonaspect3 Build this outfit to the body type you are using, and close!

- Run FNIS..

- And go into your game, Voila! It should be good to go, with this updated Bodyeffects of the shout's armor.

I feel lucky for having found this thread, I had the exact same issue and it was driving me crazy not being allowed to use such a cool shout! The problem lied on the dragonbornfxf nif files, as Sylvinah explained and her solution worked perfectly of course. I only feel bad about the hours I spent looking for the problematic mod. xD

I finally report that it did in fact work. Lots of stuff prevented me from checking if it worked for the years this has been up, and I can confirm that this fixed it, and I bodyslided it too afterwards, so now it fits the character. Thanks a bunch, Sylvinah!

Not sure if anyone will read this post, but I had this same problem (CTD on dragon aspect) but it was on a male dark elf. I tested it on my khajiit male and it worked fine. I also don't have the mod Vanilla Outfits Bodyslided, and so I don't think that this solution will work.
