drakeelvin
I wonder if anyone out there knows of, or has, or would like to make, some unique looking textures for some items I made. The items currently use the default textures from the original NV items they are based on, as follows: -- A 12Ga. Riot Shotgun named "Bubba" (I made the weapon automatic, not sure if that matters for animation, the standard riot shotgun is not automatic) -- A Ratslayer Rifle named "Hogslayer" (one downloader suggested white, I'm no artist though so I don't know) -- A Recharger Pistol named "Linda Lu" (I was thinking flourescent pink or something, and if it also shot pink beams instead of red, and possibly did pink crits and maybe pink ashpiles, that would top Mr Fantastic's work at Helios One) -- Merc Grunt Outfit named "Southern Rocker" it has enhanced DT and Radiation Resistance, I'd personally like it to appear a lot more robust than it does now, but to always look hillbillyish -- A lightweight Anti-Materiel rifle named Drake's Rifle but I need to think of a better name, something with Billy in it maybe. It is lighter and easier to wield than the standard AM rifle and it shoots a new type of ammunition. I was thinking something along the lines of silver/aluminumn type of look but IDK, maybe a combination of black barrel with some lightweight carbon fibre and/or aluminumn parts. If you want to checkout the items the mod in question is Drakeelvin Wasteland Beta 3 and the link is in my signature. Thanks! TerribleFears
I am very new, but I remember making mods for some old computer games a couple years back (back then, you didn't have to go through all the trouble of coding garbage, it was as simple as editing textures in paint and replacing the files later on). I'm twenty one years old, and wouldn't mind working on a modding project for New Vegas, it's one of my favorite games, and too have others download a mod that was created or helped created by me would be amazing. Feel free to email me at "[email protected]". I am Canadian, and run on pacific time. Please note that getting time to talk to me may be tricky at first but I will try to free up my schedule for a project like this. You can also send me a text if you want, just email me & ask for my cell number. Thanks, TerribleFears (Brad)
drakeelvin
Hey you're hired! ;) I am quite new to New Vegas modding as well so each mod I do is both something I want and also it is teaching me something, the next step as it were, about modding. I think such a project as this is a good way to learn to edit textures for New Vegas because you would be starting with existing game models and could modify them, rather than start from scratch, so since you want to give it a try lets take a shot. I'm in the eastern Canuck time zone (Ontario) and I have a very wierd work schedule, so time I get to spend gaming/modding is also unpredictable. The best way for us to get started at least would be the Steam Community chat server: we can post messages via Nexus back and forth, or use email, and that gets saved. One thing for sure, there are a lot of people here on Nexus who will help out once you've started working on something and get stuck probably someone can help you understand the next step and keep going. I'll send you a PM. Edited April 1, 2011 by drakeelvin
