hacking paranoia

forgive me if this post is in the wrong place (i almost never use these forums) but recently ive had two rather strange popups whilst browsing the skyrim nexus. the first was a "warning your computer is being hacked" esqe thing, complete with an audio message reading out the text. the second was almost identical, but this time it said ive won an iphone, or something of that nature. both happend within an hour.it may be plain paranioa, but after a year on the nexus ive never seen aneything like this.

Thanks for the heads up. These may be illegal ads. Sometimes the ad companies regular ads are hijacked by unscrupulous people. Because not everyone sees the same ads (they are specific to location) in order to deal with them we need a screenshot to see what you are getting. The next time you get one of these please take a screenshot - then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the contact us tab.

 

Then again, sometimes these are from some other source. I recommend scanning your computer to make sure nothing has been downloaded that you didn't want.

yea me too one time when i was just on my mod page, after 20 minutes it sied wawrrning your computer is infected with a virus (scareware) it also happens to my mom on other sites so may not just be a nexus thing.
