Telyn
You're probably aware of these resources but just in case:http://cs.elderscrol..._Cleaning_Guide Helped me be rid of crashes. http://tesivpositive...r_outdated_mods Whole site is a treasure. Linked to that chapter because you use Natural Environments, and it has info about your options there. http://devnull.sweet...reoverhaul.html TOTO is a bit outdated, but lots of useful screenshots and commentary still. http://www.tweakguid...Oblivion_1.html December 2010 update in case you haven't been there lately. http://planeteldersc....Detail&id=2420 I know you do not use MTAEVWD but there's some commentary regarding possible engine limitations below, which I have not been able to verify. Interesting, though. I would not suggest you get rid of your city and landscape mods. I love graphics upgrades myself. You can probably get enough FPS back in other ways. If Streamline works for you, that's what counts.
seanms1991
Thank you for the links (I have the Natural Weather unofficial patch by the way), and thank you all for your help, but I think I may have found my problem (although, from what I can tell I had other problems you guys helped a lot with). Believe it or not, it was the 1st Person Legs mod that Deadly Reflex requires (not really luckily). I noticed I crashed commonly when getting on and off a horse, which in some cases I used to see if my game still crashed (that or killing a whole city, which is also reliable). I was trying to wrap my head around that specific crash, why it would crash there instead of thinking it was part of the whole problem. I tried uninstalling MMM's slof's horse and that didn't work, but then I realized something. Every time you got on and off a horse you went into 3rd person and back to 1st, and every time that happened the "legs" were equipped, so I though why not take that mod out and see what happened. After I did that it no longer crashed; going back and putting it back in made it crash again, and I also found out it crashed when rapidly toggling 3rd and 1st person modes. Now, that's nice, but then I realize why it would crash in other points in the game, say, fighting. When fighting, it wouldn't be uncommon for me to get knocked down or fall down, which takes me into 3rd person, sometimes this happens rapidly. After removing the mod I got into an epic fight with everyone in town (had a spell that made me have effectively unlimited health [did that instead of god mode because DR says god mode can @#$% with the scripts]). After the fight (it was a long fight, like 20 minutes because for some reason the guards just kept coming!) there was no crash. I'm not sure if this solves every problem, this wouldn't explain the crashes while travailing (although I haven't experienced those lately so maybe other things we did helped that [although there is this weird thing the game does where it randomly goes into 3rd person for no apparent reason, so that could be it]). I need to play around more, but don't expect me to say too much more tonight because it's 7 in the morning and I didn't go to sleep, so good night yall! Thank you all again for more help then I hoped I would get.
bben46
The crash on exit is not limited to Win7. It occurs with WinXP also.Fast Exit fixed it for me: http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22410 Salmo the baker caused some strange crashes in my game. Removing it helped. Here is a link to Bben's Crash Helphttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=298. Moving the game may not work. Let me know if it did for you. The reason is some of the Windows registry entries may no longer be able to find the game. Here is a link to my complete uninstall/reinstall procedure located in the articles section of the Nexushttp://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=240 It allows you to preserve any saves and mods, or remove them completely - your choice.
