Hi :)

I've been modding Bioware games for a few years now, but I'm only really familiar with straight-forward overwrite mods.

A couple of mods I want to install for DA:O require DAupdater (extra dog slot, beyond fereldan base chest, expanded inventory) and I'm at a loss as to how to use it. :(

I've tried dragging the files directly into updater, but nothing happens.

I've tried extracting the folder to my desktop and using "select DAZIPs", but it never detects anything.

I have no idea what else to do. Please help!

I've used DAupdater on single file mods in the past and it worked perfectly. The mods that I'm having trouble with all have a folder labeled "Contents" that branches off onto packages and addins.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

The DAUpdater only works on mods packaged as ".dazip" files. You don't unpack/extract the mod, you leave it alone.

First, start the DAUpdater

Point it to the .dazip file you want to install (Click "Select DAZIPs")

Note: You can repeat this step to select more than one

Then click "Install Selected"

While there's no "Completed" message, when the progress bar fills, you're done.

The files don't end in .dazip, though. The readme specifically states to use DAupgrader, but I can't find any files that end in .dazip in the folder.

You are probably using a browser that "helpfully" re-names file types it thinks it recognizes.

Try re-naming the download to ".dazip", then using DAUpdater as described above.

What is the name of one of the mods you're trying to install? Exactly. And what is the name of the file you downloaded?

All of the mods that I'm having trouble with look the same, but the mod files I tried renaming to .dazip were a part of Base Chest.

"What is the name of the file I downloaded?" Sorry, I'm a bit confused by that. Do you mean what file did I try to rename to .dazip?

If so, I tried all of them. I wasn't exactly sure which ones I needed to install, so I tried all of them one after the other and none of them worked.

Their names are:

beyondferelden.cif

beyondferelden_module.erf

beyondferelden_modcore.erf

beyondferelden_package.erf

Sorry if I misunderstood.

No, NONE of those files should be re-named anything at all. I mean, "What is the name of the file that your browser is trying to download from the Nexus?"

'Frinstance, you mentioned "Extra Dog Slot". The full (correct) filename when downloading that mod is: "dao_extradogslot_1_41-664.dazip".

Is that what you get?
