kiresagara
Yeah, as consumers we need to draw the line somewhere and tell these corporate bullies that they won't get a single cent out of us until we have more rights with the property that we purchase. Yet the world is not ready for an anti-corporate revolution and this is not the place to start the battle, there's not enough anonymity here to protect the individual from corporate terrorism. New Idea: What if we reused an oblivion mod's resources (with permission)? There's oblivion mods with custom horses in them already, and even one with a custom ridable dragon that flies, just do some searching on the nexus. nivea
Well if the mod you want to use has not used any meshes/textures/scripts/icons from oblivion then sure, ask the mod maker. But no mount I have yet to see has ever been made from 100% scratch, they have used and heavily edited models from oblivion or scripts from riding a normal horse. When you buy a game your buying the right to legally play and enjoy it, why should someone who never touched a modeling tool or textures or had any hand in the game be able to say I OWN EVERYTHING IN THIS!1!!1!1!Just because you reached up on a shelf and pulled the game off or a even more lazy way of just downloading a game shouldnt mean you get anything more then being able to play it... Takeing the rights away from a game means other companies can say HA! Now we own this horse you worked a year on makeing work right to use in our games. Or even worse, have some random idiot take a modders work and claim it as their own.. I mean they downloaded it right that means its belongs to them now. Flaarg
Well none of this really matters, just the fact that you can't use sh*t from oblivion (even though we all seem to agree you should), so unless someone with uber skills, or a team gets together we're not going to be seeing this unfortunately. Or if someone goes rogue, ports the oblivion hores into a mod, creates and FTP site, and quitely gets the word out.......(hope I don't get in trouble for suggesting that  ) Edited April 7, 2011 by Flaarg
bben46
@flaarg: If the link to the site the illegal mod is posted here - you could get banned. What we need is an open source horse - one that can be used by anyone for non commercial modding in any game. :thumbsup:Any takers?
