morrowind1979
HI all. I have Neverwinter Nights 2 and I have to say the camera is bloody awful. Utterly despise the rotatable camera much prefer the fixed camera like in Baldurs Gate 1 & 2. So just wondering before I get neverwinter Nights 1 does it have a fixed camera like Baldur's Gate 2 or a movable rotating camera like Neverwinter Nights 2??? As this is going to be the decision maker on wether or not to purchase. Thanks
Tchos
Well, the quick answer is that the camera in both games is freely rotatable. There are ways of making the camera behave better, though, if you haven't given up on it entirely.
morrowind1979
Thanks I feared as much, checked out some of the camera mods but couldnt find any that fix the camera in place like Baldurs Gate Games (I'm set in my ways and don't like change lol). Tchos
Ah, actually, there is a way to fix the camera in place like that. It was introduced in the NWN2 expansion Storm of Zehir for the overland map system that was added in that expansion, but it's just a flag in the area properties that, if selected, fixes the camera to a particular height and angle. No guarantees that it'll be better to play it that way, but you can see what it feels like just by getting to the first overland map opportunity in SoZ, or by opening any area in the toolset, selecting the Overland Map option in its properties (and your preferred distance, pitch, and yaw), and starting a new game.
