phobert Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 And nearly had a heart attack when I found and removed the dust off these: http://img837.imageshack.us/img837/7961/wp000316.jpg If only I had a working record player.
Illiad86 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Wow LPs!! :P Some of those are worth a bit of money there ;) I have a few Pink Floyd ones and an Iron Maiden one haha :D They sell those all in one systems with record player super cheap now. Think you can get a standalone for practically nothing these days.
grannywils Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Yeah, you have some good ones there. I still have a few good oldies myself, and I do have a player. My husband can also transfer them to discs for me, so I can play them that way as well. But I love having the old vinyl. I even have a few old classical 78's. There is something about playing a record that is so special. I know the sound is better on a disc, but somehow it is more romantic or something. I don't know. . .
Illiad86 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Yeah, they just have that "sound" to them :) Few of the bands I listen to release their albums on vinyl still...never got one though...cost more than the CD :P
Pushkatu Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I never had such music disks. When I was old enough to understand these things, there where only CD's around. Nice collection you have there.

Limey6587 Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Wow! Thats amazing.I know I have some old lp's around somewhere, gotta go find them. Really miss listening to Golden Earring in vinyl.
JimboUK Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 Last year we found a box full in the shed, it's quite a large collection from the 80s. I bought a decent turntable to play them on, I'd forgotten what a wonderful warm sound you get from Vinyl, nothing like the cold and sterile sound you get from CDs or the ghastly flat sound of MP3s. The OP should invest in a turntable.
