stebbieranch
Recently I decided to start a new game on Fallout: New Vegas, only to have the game freeze after customising my character. I managed to exit the game using task manager and started it again. It froze in the exact same place it did the first time. I have tried reinstalling the game, turning all the graphics on low and updating my drivers but still, every time I finish creating my character, after the message that says "are you sure you want this to be your character" (or something along those lines), when Doc Mitchell leans over and the screen goes blurry it freezes. The game itself is updated to the latest version. I tried loading an older save and for a few minutes it was fine, but then froze again, at a seemingly random point this time. I have never had this problem before (and have had the game ever since it was released). I am wondering if it is to do with the recent New Vegas patch, and if anyone else has had this problem. Any help would be appreciated. :wallbash:
GrindedStone
What you got loaded on that junt ? Mods? What's located at meshes/characters/_male ? Do you tweek your .ini config files with notepad? Load it up with FNV edit, look in race at the race you use, an see if any other mods are changing that. Unpack the Meshes/characters/_male folder from the archive to the desktop, then move that into the games's data folder.

I havent tweaked the .ini config file at all, or at least I can't remember doing so.
GrindedStone
Go in steam an turn off cloud sync an automatic updates, I think this will keep it from automaticly regenerating CaravanPack.esmThere were problems with the pre-order packs, but I thought they had fixed it in the updates. So it's just an easy thing to try. So try to create a character without the CaravanPack.esm loaded, see what happeneds.
