LadyRolePlay
I've been through every link posted for fixes, done almost all of these things :) but am having an isolated problem. Mainly I can play through the game but starting with Lothering I've been fighting with it a lot. ie the bandits. What I noticed is that ie one will have a fight and IF I am engaged immediately following it in conversation by an npc it will gradually get slower and stop. Some specific examples: I meet bandits, we fight, leader talks, IF i exited from conversation quickly, ie no questions, etc, I could just barely get through the fight w/o stalling out totally. I meet Bohdain and save him and son. IF he talks to me immed after, I lock down. IF I pull mobs far enough away from the guy, he does not engage in conversation, and can talk to him after we auto put away equip and game runs fine. I've been totally stuck in the tavern, and I am unable to proceed there. I get in fight with logain's men, but prob is Leliana comes up immed and starts talking.. Alas, it's one of those "EXTENDED" dialogues the npcs who join your party have and can't avoid it, so game by third dialouge option has totally stopped. Other wise the game runs fine. BUT what I noticed, even from the start, was that if I tried to loot while still in combat mode, even if enemy are dead, the game will crash. I've noticed as stated above, if I get a chance to totally finish out combat to pt weapons are put away THEN talk to npc's it's fine. Otherwise, it's like the looting, I start to slow and freeze if cannot get out of the conver fast. IS there any work around? If not going to have to shelf the game, I cannot see playing a game, if ie cannot get pc's like the rogue or as it is, bad enough have to skip options etc, just to get through stuff. Let me know pls if any ideas I have tried most if not all fixes here audio and video wise I can't get past leliana wanting to gab away at me after fighting those other guys instead of letting it clear or whatever before she talks to me. I'll finish by saying this, I delayed palying this game hoping all bugs would be resolved by the time DA2 came out. I have been bioware girl since thier first games, they were always so good about fixing issues such as these, one of the most gamer oriented companies there was, I am distressed to see how far from that they've gone. No way am I buying DA 2 as it now stands, and if they want an mmo to be a success they're really going to have to step it up big time as far as game/customer support to make it in that market. Bioware for me has gone from buying collector's editons to bargins a year later, and if I can't even play them then, then that's it. No good to buy whatcannot be played. AMD II Phenom x 4 945 clocked speed manfu 3003 MHz8GB of ramNvidia GTX 260 VRAM 896 mbpagefile 15.9 gbSBX-FI soundDX 11 I've run on one core tweaked vid card w/ nvidia control panal, run in other modes, used creative alchem for it, No reason in the world this game should not be working on this system. I guess they really do pretty much focus on the consoles now. I hate to sound bitter, but having been with them from the start, I remember how things used to be support wise. I am hoping somone can help me w/ this specific delimma and I can play the game, if not, then it's just unplayable garbage and no point ever coming back to a bioware game, I guess unless I have an xbox, *shudders*. I've also posted this to bw tech boards, w/ no response there either. I have ZDF and IRS, Morrigan Patch installed, all carefully done to be compatible, and I just don't think that is the problem what so ever. My only choice if there simply is no solution is to walk away from the game, I think I've tried about everything. I post here in hopes one of the ppl who make mods etc might be able to give me some pointers. I could just skip the tavern but at this point, I will have by passes so much including Leliana I don't see the point in going on. This is my last ditch effort :) tyvm
naomis8329
I had this problem and it was terribly frustrating. What other mods do you have on besides the dialogue mods?? Let me know as I had to take them all off and manually test one by one until I got to the culprit(s) (there were a few and they weren't obvious). Thandal
I have no idea if your video settings are contributing to the slowdown, but the GTX260 is not DX11-capable, so there's no reason for you to select that setting. The nVidia 200-series only include up to DX10.x (for example, my GT240 includes 10.1 functionality.) All flavours of MS's DX require three things to make it work. 1) The OS has to support it, 2) the application (game) has to be written to use it, and 3) the graphics adapter has to be capable of implementing the instuctions in order to display it. Win7, (and Vista, if you've installed the "Platform Upgrade") supports DX11, (DXdiag will show that it's available.)DA2 was written to use DX11 if available and selected. (But not DA:O/A. Those use DX9 instructions.) And neither the OS nor the application will check if your card can actually render DX11.
