Search Function Not Working?

Sorry if this is not the correct place for this. Please advise if not.

Some months back I recall choosing the View Forum Thread option from a mod's Post page, then using the search function to find an issue that I knew was posted before, with no search results found. I would go through page by page until I found it. I thought that this would be fixed so I didn't give it too much thought. I tried it today & still came back without any search results. I spent a good amount of time going through the pages until I found it. There it was, the same way I typed it into the search bar. If I remember right, the forum was going through some changes around the time I first noticed it & why I dismissed it.

Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks for any feedback.

Edit:

I am starting to question the usefulness of this forum. 90% of my queries go unanswered. It's one thing when it's about gaming, but when it's an issue with the forum itself...

Very frustrating. If I have missed what is deemed an obvious response to this elsewhere, maybe a guy could get a break & be informed? Help someone out? Isn't this the purpose of a forum/community? I'm all for learning what I can by research, but things get missed from time to time. This is the tool that I use to find the answers I'm looking for before asking for help. I do not know what the reason is for such lack of response here, could be many reasons. Not trying to be ungrateful to any that put in much work here, merely giving some feedback.

So long.

It's not just you. I'm having the same problem as well. The search function is completely broken. You can pick a term visible within the latest few posts and try searching for it and still get no results. This was working a few months ago.

Most people are so used to being able to search through Google that they just don't understand that a forum may not have the same capability. Google has spent millions on their search because that is what they do. Nexus is stuck with the search that came as a part of the IPB forums software package that we pay for. Search is not something that Nexus does well .

However, Google CAN search the forums and far better than the limited search capability we have here. In order to limit a google search to just the Nexus in the search box type site:nexusmods.com then the search term

To limit it to just the forums site:forums.nexusmods.com

If you insist on using Bing, or some other search engine, I have no idea if that will work or not. ( it does work using DuckDuckGo  ) But they probably have something similar.

Yes, exactly. I did work a few or so months back, just fine for me as far as my awareness level. Glad to know I'm not losing it....completely ha ha. Thank you.

When an alt is available, I am not a GOOGLE user, but this is interesting info & I thank you for providing it. Will look into possible similar functions in my preferred browser. Thanks again. Edited by NexTextGorilla
