sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
I'd like to but I just can't afford 15MB to try a mod I'll never actually use. That's 15 MB of blender tutorials (text not vids) or a nice texture or maybe 2 that I can use in my house mod I'm currently creating.(From scratch, none of the CK kit parts and snap a house together, complete custom interior...lol)Working on the interior atm, almost got the Shrine/Sauna room modeled.Has lots of nice curved alcoves in the walls for shrines and a small spa in the middle with a nocturna shrine as a center piece. The room is a round room and has a quarter spiral staircase to the floor above and another quarter spiral staircase to the basement.4 Levels, no load points, small and cozy, yet well be equipped.Basement (5 rooms), Ground Floor, 3 rooms, First Floor (3 Rooms), Second Floor (2 rooms)(4 square rooms in total, 9 round rooms in total) The walls are textured with golden sandstone rocks and the architraves are a dark mahogany color. The floors a slightly lighter color timber planks (still darkish, but a rich color) that look warm and grainy. The square rooms of the house have an arched fireplace with a mahogany mantel built in to the wall. Also they have multiple alcoves for nick-naks, containers, mannequins or whatever. The round rooms all have a quarter spiral staircase to transition between floors. Each round room will have it's own unique use and features, ranging from kitchen, shrine, sauna, library, display, bedrooms etc. When I get the modeling done I can worry about features furniture. One feature the house will have...When you have a follower with you and if the follower likes the house they will ask you if they can live there. If you say yes, then the follower will use the home as their own when you dismiss them. The follower will choose the bed they want as theirs and when at home they will wander in and out and sandbox in all areas of the interior and the exterior as well. Sick of all those awesome house mods and then when it comes to your follower living there, it's like "yo, dude just use X mod to get your follower to live there". Another feature will be the follower will ask you if they can be a merchant while living there.Which you can decide the type of merchant they can be: Blacksmith, Fence, General Goods, Apothecary, Spells etc. I have lots of breath life into the standard follower when dismissed ideas I'd like to implement. Dbrock1980
Wow! That sounds very ambitious! Where is it located? I personally like houses near water. Which is why i like lake view manor so much! Even though, id love to see it when it done!
sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
Yep I love the Falkreath area of the game, lush, green vibrant and good weather most the year round. But to many mods tend to edit that location so I'll probably avoid it.Even though Lakeview is my fav house location. Was maybe looking up the back of Rorikstead on a hill.Even though it's not lush at least it doesn't snow all year round...lolPlus I can probably fit some town quests in (Since not much actually happens there normally).Be also good for my tenants that live in the house could travel to the Inn on occasion for dinner. But that's not set in stone yet, probably when I model the outside of the house I'll have a better look around as to where my home will suite.I like Heljarchen Hall location, but despise the snow bs.It's why I never dl house mods that are based in snow locations or are a new worldspace of snow filled areas.Yuk is peeves me the whole snow climate and it does nothing for me visually or immersively (I'm not really into lore friendly immersion either).I like my home to be somewhere when I walk outside I can see the landscape and appreciate the view and weather a good percent of the time, not bland white and crap weather 80 percent of the year.Bland white crap weather is for travelling to quests, not to live in imho...lolBut each their own  Blender screenies of the base interior modeling (wip and a long way to go).I've already exported and chunkmerged the floors.Already exported and chunckmerged the stairs and front/bottom of the fireplaces. After I get the timber work done i can export just the timber and and chunckmerge. Then I'll export the windows (some of the alcove cutouts actually are for Day/ Nigh lead light windows)Then last of all I'll do the stone structure of it.It's the UV wrapping that seems to take the longest time, but gradually getting the hang of it. All 4 flloors from the front (it's this way so i can work on it all but break it down as i export stuff:http://nsa37.casimages.com/img/2015/09/24/150924045138539523.jpg Top view.http://nsa37.casimages.com/img/2015/09/24/150924045137764378.jpg Small round shrine/spa room I've been tinkering with.http://nsa37.casimages.com/img/2015/09/24/150924045145440055.jpg As you can see I'm a complete novice but it's always fun to learn as you go along :) Edited September 24, 2015 by sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
Dbrock1980
Wow that's impressive as hell! Wish I had that kind of talent!!! A quick question about that chest script. Can I modify that to hold Dragon claws? I tried finding a keyword and forms list in the creation kit for them but I didn't see anything, what else what I look under
sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
You'd do it differently using base id of the claws.
Dbrock1980
Okay cool. So I can delete anything related to armor and in the array just put base IDS? I'll look at the script when I get home. You know one thing I look for in player homes (aside from local and display racks for items) is having a hard! I love the female music bards and when they don't sing lol. The music is great imo
sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE
I've already written a simple mod to make anyone a bard.Just haven't bothered releasing it yet. Basically if the NPC you ask to be a bard doesn't have the right voice type then they will only offer instrumental. It's really quite easy to set up and I didn't need to edit any vanilla quests or scripts, but it still uses the vanilla bard quests and scenes.Even the player can be a bard and play instruments or if your character has the right voice type can sing the bard songs :) Probably won't bother releasing it, I did it mainly just to see I could. The other one I'm still working out is making anyone a Trainer on the fly.Predefined trainer npc in CK is easy, but making dynamic on the fly ask anyone to be a trainer isn't quite as easy, but I think still doable. But I put that aside fym and working more on the modeling side of stuff for a while. Dbrock1980
Yea I followed darkfox's tutorial to make a bards for dragonstead manor (a awesome house mod, also love pinewood watch or something like that) both in falkreath. Do you think you might be able to update that script for me to work with Dragon claws?
