Vrandyke
Hello, Fellow Fallouters! My idea is a story mod that tells about a man/woman who is experiencing vivid dreams of what the world was from before the war. (For all you technical typse out there he/she can probably do this due to all the pre-war stories and pictures he/she has seen and maybe even a video tap/recording or two) At first its no big deal, but as the dreams become more vivid, tense, and frequent he/she begins to worry and try to figure out what the dreams mean before they become too frequent and possibly put him/her into a never ending dream/coma. That is the just of my idea with each dream taking you back to what the world was before, similar to that of Tranquility Lane in Fallout 3 but less of insane phsyco's world and more of actual world. (There would also probably be mentions and cameos of the Enclave back when they were a secret government military group and all that. Maybe even outside of the dream as a remenence group or something lead by a crazy leader. "Major Caleb James Campbell" has a nice ring to it ^_^ So does "Edward Campbell")I would love to find some people willing to lend their amazing modding skills in creating this. I think its a good idea, but I could just be bias. In any case if any of you have other ideas to go along with this, filler ideas, major tag on ideas, and such of that ora please message me. But again I'm looking for people to help me get this mod going. I can kinda-sorta-not-really make mods of my own and need help from other people. Please, thank you, and Fight the Good Fight, Fallouters!!! Edited September 22, 2015 by Vrandyke
devinpatterson
Sure I can understand wanting to do a pre-war mod via dreams (I floated a similar idea in the OWB expanded post), but what do you see as the plot of the mod? What do the dreams signify, what can the courier change or do to avoide teh dream coma? Most good stories have an ending, a conclusion to a plot......what would the end game be for your idea? When I think of dreams and post apocalyptic settings it evokes the The Lathe of Heaven? I'm not going to link to it, since I'd suggest seeing it rather than spoiling it by revealing the plot. But if your familiar with the story or one of the tv/movie adaptions, I think it's story line is worth bringing to teh fallout universe, but it would require someone from the past. Maybe someone using the "sleeper" tech as portrayed in VB's boulder dome.
Vrandyke
I see your point of view. But I actually don't have a story plot yet. A good thing because there's room for other's ideas. A bad thing for it not sounding complete or very appetizing at the moment. And you are also right in the story plot needing to be something that can't be very easily predicted. Please let me know of you have any other ideas to add to this. I have no nod making experience and am hoping to file the inspiration of those out there who do.
Tony the Wookie
Fallout 4 looks to have a lot more pre-war assets than New Vegas. I would wait and see what Fallout 4 has to offer and how you can fit your story into that.
