ryanjp89
I was wondering if there is any possible way to preview glow maps without checking them ingame.I know how they work, and know how to set them up, but so far I only know how to preview them by editing the nif file, and keep checking them ingame. The problem with that is with what I am applying glow maps to, it is sometimes hard for that method to work.So far I could not figure out how to preview them in Geck, nor nifskope. but if it is possible to edit them and change them without having to check ingame every time, that would really be helpful to me. Thank you in advance to whoever takes the time to reply. Edited September 23, 2015 by ryanjp89
Deleted1205226User
You cannot "preview" glow map only since they are masks in relation with the Emisive and Emit Mult in the nif. You can, however, visualize the result of their interaction in the "Mini-Geck"Select your nif - right click - Open with Garden of Eden Construction kit. This will bring you the Geck preview window only. You might have a couple of warning about ground textures, click yes.To get rid of these warning, drop a copy of a ground textures renamed "Default.dds" and "Default_n.dds" in your Data/Textures/Landsscape folder. Hope this helps! Edited September 23, 2015 by Guest
ryanjp89
Well I already did this, but another way. I applied the nif to something in GECK and just previewed it in GECK.It's unfortunate that the only way is to keep previewing them ingame.Hopefully the game will notice when I make changed to the nif while the game is running, and apply the changes. I am applying glow maps to projectiles, and sometimes it doesn't change right away when I save the nif file to them.Thank you for the help. The method you mentioned does save me a lot of time when I want to preview other nif files in GECK without loading up GECK and loading the masters and other files.
