Help With Unique Laser Rifle Texture.

I made a custom laser rifle for myself, along with a custom painted texture for Focus Optics Mod. However, the rest of the rifle lacks in texture quality.

Since you didn't actually post a question, I'm kinda shooting blind here, but I'll try guessing/inferring your problem. I suspect this is related to the normal size vs 1st person textures.

 

The standard textures are 128x128, but the 1st person textures are 1024x1024. You have to make sure you edit the static and texture (since you have a mod) set associated with 1st person (*if* the dds/texture has a different name). Best to edit the higher rez texture then reduce the rez (painless in gimp/photoshop) so you don't have to do it twice. Do a search in geck->all for 1stPersonLaserRifle and you can see how it's set up if your not already familiar with the structure.

I did make a 1stperson static for the weapon and selected it from the menu for the weapon. But the texture is still very low rez. as you can see by comparing the 2 1st person pics

Yeah, teh 1st person vs normal size texture would be one of the more common causes, but if it's not the case and you have set up all the steps correctly it would make a lot more sense for you to post the assets. The readers of your post could guess other possible explanations, but since you basically left a info vacuum by not detailing any of your process, we would just be guessing. Not a particularly efficient or practical way of going about things. I can't guarantee I'll have time to look at it, but there is a lot of experienced eyeballs on the forum that can help out.
