Martin Septim Companion Mod

I know there already is a companion mod out, but he seems a trifle over powered.

 

I would sort of like one based upon CM Partners, where you can gain Brother Martin as a companion after the main quest is finished. I have tried editing the existing Martin Companion mod, but my CS keeps crashing (random areas, not one consistent area)

 

I would like for him to be mainly a healer, though a few ranged offensive spells would be good, he must also be essential (I hate suicidal NPCs and most of oblivion's are... I play a mage character and I am firing off spells, and just as I release, here comes a suicidal NPC right in front of me, then *I* am charged with murder)

 

He does not need to be recognized as Martin Septim, but perhaps just Brother Martin, as Martin Septim 'died' and Brother Martin would prefer to keep it that way.
