Profiling - NMM or Mod Organizer

First let me say if this is not the appropriate forum I apologise. As Mod Organizer is not specific to Skyrim and I am in the process of making Skyrim vanilla again with profiling planned for my next game I was wondering whether NMM 0.60.8 or MO would be the one to choose. Is there any one who has tried both of these programs that can give me any advice, such as the pros and cons of each program?

I just want advice so I can figure out which one would be more suitable for me, not to start a flame war.

You are correct in one thing. MO, while available to download here, is not actually affiliated with the Nexus site which means that the site feedback and questions section is really not the place for your question.

As for getting an unbiased answer on what is best I've found that users of either are anything but (really rather slavish on both sides imnsho) so that might be difficult to obtain. Personally for keeping different save games and their mods straight, I prefer Wrye.

There are fanbois on both sides. It is mostly a matter of what features you want in your manager. NMM is intended to be simpler, MO has more features for the more advanced user. MO was originally designed around Skyrim, but does work well on 4 games (all using the Beth version of the old Gambrio engine) NMM supports 17 games based on various engines ( if all you want to mod is Skyrim - they both support that) As Oubliette pointed out there are other managers. Wrye Bash is another Gambryo specific manager, and has a steeper learning curve. Even the older OBMM ( Oblivion Mod Manager) has a Skyrim version renamed TesModManager, again with some different features.

If you are just starting out, NMM may be the better choice - the many complaints about the newest version are ALL related to converting from the older version ( the data structure was changed ) So. if you don't have any older mods to transfer, you won't have those problems. If you already understand data structure, Wrye Bash is a geeks manager. MO is somewhere in between. I have not tried the TesModManager, but I used the OBMM a lot and it looks very similar.

I had queried earlier this month if Gopher would be making an update to his previous alpha version but did not get a reply. Today I stumbled (quite literally) across two videos by Gopher which relate to my original question so I have added them below for anyone else who may be interested. Thanks Qubliette and bben46 for your replies.

Edit: removed one video - link did not work but they are on Gophers YouTube page anyway.
