lulzintosh
Hi, does anyone know if there is a mod that will let me change any NPC's clothing or edit the list of items he has within the game itself?Like going near the NPC's and pressing a key to change their equips?Or atleast for followers? Please let me know, thank you.
Perraine
Someone could probably write some sort of menu that uses SKSE to accomplish this, but most people either edit the NPC's base inventory in the CK (good for the most common followers) or they simply use the in game console for random NPC's with the "additem" "Removeitem" and "Equipitem" options. cloudedtruth
You could temporarily change the outfit of an NPC easily with console (there may be a mod that does this too, I'm not sure though) by using the some of the commands already listed out above. If you wanted to permanently change the outfit worn by each NPC, you'd have to edit their "default outfit" using the CK or TES5Edit. Reason is, at least as I understand it, NPCs will always respawn with their default outfit even if you've removed all clothes, weapons, items, etc, that they have. Even if you've removed their default outfit and given them something to wear instead, they will still respawn wearing their default outfit. (The exception being followers that you have recruited) Given a better weapon to an NPC is a little easier as you simply need to add it to their inventory. Each time they respawn they should equip the best weapon from their inventory container. You can easily add or remove items from a NPCs inventory (which does not include their default outfit since it's not inside their inventory container) by opening up the console, clicking on the NPC, and typing the command: openactorcontainer 1 That'll open their inventory as if it were any other storage container (chest, barrel, etc) and you can add or remove any items and it will not be considered stealing (like if you were to pickpocket them instead).
