Mod Request: Ingame option for Hairworks on everything but geralt

As the title says, I wonder why CDPR didn't add this option in the hairworks slider. It would be awesome if this could be possible.

(17th Oct) Edit: The existing mod (Hairworks on everything but geralt) is bugged on maxwell GPUs, even the latest update (1.2) has issues as there is a strand of Hairworks Hair on the Non-Hairworks hair set which gets darker and out of place when it is raining or when hair get wet.

I hope there will be a proper version for this mod soon.

Respects to all modders.

There is such a mod my friend. I'm not sure if it implements a slider function in the menu though. I can't paste a link for some reason but just type "hair" in the search bar and it should be the first one or so that pops up.

Thanks for replying.

I know, but that Mod has issues with maxwell GPUs, even the updated version has a strand of HairworksHair on it that gets very prominent and out of place when it is raining or when hair get wet it just looks so weird. I even posted this on the mod's page, but no one has responded yet and the author seems to be currently unavailable. I hope there will be a proper "Hairworks On Everything But Geralt" Mod soon.

I'm a little confused sorry, but are you saying that even with the Hairworks turned off for Geratl, that a Hairworked hair still shows up? That's odd. As I was typing this, I was going to link to this mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/165/?) talking about it probably being the only one that would do the slider option. You might want to read his newest update :D

With the release of AMM (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/780/?) hopefully you'll see a mod (more than likely the one above) that adds that exact option to the game.

A lot of people hate the look of his Hairworked hair, and like the look of the Hairworked animals/monsters. Also, a lot of people have severe FPS droppage when Geralt has Hairworked hair, and especially when he gets close to the screen (I.E every conversation). Since you see animals/monsters at a greater distance, and a lesser frequency. The framerate drops there might not be as big of a problem. That's the way I've interpreted it though, I could be wrong.

As for the "Geralt only" option, that already exists in the game doesn't it? And like I said, I think him having the Hairworks is the bigger performance hit of the two. Thankfully with mods, people who hate it, can have it off, and people who don't, can have it on :)

I personally have it off for Geralt myself, since I'm using a short hair Geralt mod. Otherwise, I actually liked the Hairworked hair.

Thanks for replying.

I'm aware of the latest update and so far it is bugged on maxwell GPUs. In order to get it working "vikart" the author of the mod said that they could fix the maxwell bug by applying a part of the Hairworks Hair on the Non-Hairworks Hair set. In normal conditions there aren't any noticeable differences, but when it rains the strand of hair that has Hairworks becomes darker and completely out of place.

Now the reason I posted this topic with that title is because I figured that the author of the existing mod wasn't considering the Hairworks hair strand mixed with Non-Hairworks hair to be a problem, so I wondered if someone else would consider taking this on. The slider part isn't really important, but it would be nice to have it in game.

You may be aware that the Hairworks hair and the Non-Hairworks Hair are two completely different sets on their own. As Drone456 said, I happen to be one of those who don't like the look of the HairWorks Hair (default hair style), it is just so much different than the Non-Hairworks hair (default style), it feels comparatively shorter and noodely etc. If only they made them similar changing only the physics aspect of it, I would always keep it on. Apart from that I do not have a performance problem, I play with everything maxed out.

Good luck to you too. I hope there will be a fix for this soon, or maybe someone else would consider doing another version of this mod that works on maxwell GPUs. I've actually stopped playing the game due to this issue, I like the default hair style and that's the only one that looks so weird with hairworks on :pinch:.
