Draghy
Hey. A few days ago I decided to make a separate user on my computer for my brother, so he could play in peace. It all started cause we were both playing Oblivion and at times we overwrote each other's saves which was annoying. Also, he kept complaining about the mods I kept installing because he didn't like any mods. After I made him a full account with administrator rights, I let him play for a while and when I came back and switched to my user and started oblivion. I came to realize that armors, clothes and characters' skin was reverted to default, so I went to the data folder and saw that many folders in the Meshes and Textures directory mysteriously dissapeared. I put some of them back for a test and started the game again, this time from my brother's user. He had the same default stuff, mainly because all .esps in the OBMM were disabled so I enabled most of them, except for some that bothered him. I then did some hard work reinstalling all armor and clothing mods, and played the game and worked fine for both me and my brother, for a few days and I didn't install any mods in the meantime. Today I downloaded a custom player house and when I opened OBMM to check it, I was shocked to see that all my .esps dissapeared, except for Oblivion, KOTN, and SI. Fortunately, I made a backup and put them all back, but when I opened Oblivion, I even a binkw32.dll missing error. I managed to fix that, as well as the mixing textures, meshes and .esps problems, for now to say. So, my question is, do you guys have any idea what could be causing this? And maybe is there a way we could both play from the same user but still have different saves? If you guys need a list of all my mods or my specs, I'll be glad to help. Thanks. bben46
Windows registry only allows one copy of the game to be used. Any time you reinstall, it makes the registry entries for that install the only ones that can be used. Meaning it will always point to the same folders no matter which copy you use. Long ago, I wrote a WIKI article on how to use more than one copy, but it is a bit technical http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Dual_Oblivion and since then several other simpler ways have been made Instead, use the alternative that I recommended http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/35263/? Here is another similar program for doing this: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/41271/?

Draghy
Thanks for the replies but the problem hasn't happened since and I hope it stays this way. If it does, than I'll check those downloads and see what I can do.
