Fujosej
Guys, i really started enjoying this game more, after increasing animation speed, through toolbox (increased to x5) ,but i wanna rebind a '-'(normal speed) and '='(x5 speed) , it says that i must do it in DefaultInputs.ini... but i cant find where exaclty. And one other thing, it would be really nice to bind a third key for a x3 speed, to watch an alien turns, cause on x5 its kinda messy,,,) Btw i have a latest patch unfortunately and cant fully use a toolbox mods. dubiousintent
I am assuming by "toolbox" you are referring to the mod ToolBoks by bokauk? If so, it's functionality has generally been replaced by PatcherGUI, which is a GUI to the UPKUtils mod toolset. The UPKUtils are actively supported by wghost81, (who is a member of the Long War development team). However, PatcherGUI does not attempt to "automate" (meaning "click an icon") as many things as ToolBoks. But it is compatible with ToolBoks scripts, as well as newer, more flexible scripting. For your specific purpose, you want to learn the KeyBind function. See the wiki article "Keybind Commands". -Dubious-
Fujosej
Thanks for the anwer, yes i was referring to the ToolBoks by bokauk. Is it dangerous to install it on officially purchased Xcom? Do i need to delete the chages that ToolBoks did in order to install a UPKUtils? I installed PatcherGUI , i couldnt find a mod that speeds up the game animation with customisable keybinds, the mod that skips cinematic when revealing an aliens , and lastly a mod that Skips opening logos. Can i use toolboks and Pathergui at the same time , one for speeding up the game and second one to remove Hunker down and overwatch delays, and hopefully when i finally could find it , skipping alien reveal cinematic. That would be an awesome. Edited October 18, 2015 by Fujosej
dubiousintent
All mods are making changes to the game's hex code. It is the only way available to add mods. That in itself is "dangerous", but we have been successfully doing so since the game came out. Both tools make backups of the file they change. The issue is that each mod is searching for a unique string of hex code or a specific offset location to identify where to make it's changes. If the result is not changing the size of the executable, or something another mod is looking for, they should be compatible with each other. As ToolBoks and PatcherGUI both are tools for applying mods created by others, their "built-in" functions don't (AFAIK, and I'm pretty confident about it) change the size of the executable and you should be able to use the "built-in" features of both in combination. You may find you need to use one tool to make a particular change before another, and then vice versa. We haven't had anyone report on the results of attempting to do that. Strongly suggest you prioritize your "tweaks" before applying a "tweak" and then test (with vanilla), before applying another with the other tool. Remember that if a "tweak" breaks something you are going to have to "revert" (or restore the backup) files and start the sequence over before trying again. Because they are tools, you will need to search Nexus for mods that do other things those tools can install. Some are so easy they are not published as "mods" but instead we have instructions posted in the "How to DIY common mod solutions" wiki article. Between the tools, that article, and wghost81's "XCOM Interface and Gameplay Tweaks" mods, you should be covered. If you can't find a mod for the animation speed changes (and I don't recall one), you will have to "roll your own" using the article I referenced earlier. It's not difficult; just requires some reading. Edit: the "DIY" article has "how to adjust Fast/Slow motion". -Dubious- Edited October 19, 2015 by dubiousintent
