Oblivion Mod Manager

Hi All!

I know that Oblivion Mod Manager is a terrific product.

But, it needs to be ...improved.

I recently downloaded the v1.2 patch for Oblivion.

First thing I encounter is a message that a) it doesn't find the original i.e. unchanged .bsa files, but b) it did find .bsa files with the same name, so c) it won't do any patching to the same, since the contents have changed, which is true.

I assume the message is generated because a) the patcher is checking the "date modified" and/or "Date Created" on the .bsa files, and b) OBMM lets us "directly edit" .bsa files when it does archive invalidation. OBMM also has an option to update the bsa timestamps.

When I check the dates of the original v1.511 (Oblivion Patched) .bsa files, they are, indeed, very different from the timestamp that OBMM put there.

Second thing I discover is that, having finished a bummer patch install, I tried to launch Oblivion from OBMM, and ouila!, I get a message saying that I am using an "unknown" version of Oblivion, which is true.

Oblivion did launch from the CD launcher, and showed the version as 1.2.

I suspect that a lot of modders who have come to know and love OBMM are going to have a lot of pain when they decide to try version 1.2 of Oblivion.

OBMM has an option to remove all updates to the .bsa files; apparently when it does so it does not restore the original "date modified" to said files.

Hi All!

Twinfire, this forum is not for reporting bugs internal to the mods listed/hosted on the site. Every mod listed has its own thread in the mods forum (which thread for the OBMM specifically you can find here, or you can pm the author via the description page, or you can visit the author's website via the "File Mirrors" link on the description page, or you can email the author via the email listed on the author's website (as well as likely in the OBMM help file), or you can post on the official Bethesda ES forums in the Oblivion mods forum, where the OBMM has a [RELz] thread, or you can again PM or email the author on those forums via his profile.

But posting in the Bug Reports forum on TESSource, which is dedicated to reporting bugs in the hosting process itself (difficulties uploading or downloading files), is the very least likely place that the author of the Oblivion Mod Manager will see your concerns (which, btw, he actually knows about, and has posted about in his news/updates on his website).

Hi All!

Well, evidently I have mis-understood the "Specific Games > Oblivion > Oblivion Modifications" part of this thread.

The link for "Bug Reports" that gets me here does not seem to convey the ....precise meaning that you describe.
