I am in the process of buying a new laptop. Looking for something mid-ranged(770-850$). I have done quite a bit of research in this area. A lot of the really good gaming laptops aren't available in my country(india).

These are the 4 laptops i came up with -

(63 ratings)
(51 ratings)
(1 rating)

ab032TX and ab219TX have 940M graphics card with the same i5 processor. However, the ab032TX comes with a better resolution while ab219TX comes with backlit keyboard

P073TX comes with i7 4510U + 840M gpu while the Asus one comes with i7 5500u + geForce 920

Help me make my decision. I am a gamer but i need portability because i'm a student too, so i can't buy/build a pc. Tell me if you have any other suggestions, as long as its available in India.

If i were you and the laptop is definitely going to be playing skyrim, youd want the best combo of cpu and graphics with a ssd.

The better rsolution and 5th gen cpu is what you want

I don't think the human body was designed to play video games either.

Gaming on pc without a $1000 herman miller chair really hurts after about an hour. At least with a laptop you can hook up a wireless keyboard and mouse combo, your flat screen tv and park it on the couch for a while. I think they make wireless game pads too but still, the couch hurts too it just takes longer.

All laptops suck right now, toshiba is total garbage thanks to their CFO embezzling money, even though he was caught the damage is done and it will take years for them to recover. HP is coming up in the world, they finally put better plastic on their laptops and better touchpads. Dell might get better who knows but they are a private company now they couldn't do any worse. Asus always puts those really crappy touchpads on every single laptop they make I hate that. This year it seems like the new gen of intel stuff is slower and cost more money so actually if you could find something from last years models for sale somewhere you would be better off. Screw windows 10 get something with 8 or prefferably 7 on it. Skyrim works fine with either but a lot of stuff doesn't work right with 10 and it sucks what is going on with 10 who wants to be a guinea pig? nobody so just stay away from it.

If you can't sit upright in a chair for more than an hour without pain, you should probably see a chiropractor and physical therapist... How do you keep a job?

Looking down all the time, however, gives you bad posture.

If you buy a laptop, be prepared to spend money. I bought the Maingear Nomad 17 and it cost me $3000. That's because I got mine built by them. I could have built a PC but I also use this laptop when im at college so I said why not.

It has the brand new GTX 980M graphics card, Intel core I7 processor, 8GB of Vram, 1 TB hard drive. I could have spent more but didn't.

For Skyrim, I have 180 mods including a ton of 2K texture packs, 4K skin textures, Project ENB with DoF turned on...and I get 50-55 FPS outdoors and 60 FPS indoors. I didn't expect to have this laptop preform so well, I'm happy with this purchase as it handles DA Inquisition and Witcher 3 on high settings as well.

Bottom line, unless you plan to spend serous money, build a gaming PC instead.

Much better off invrsting on mini itx pc with a 23 or 24 inch screen. Might cost you a couple hundred more, but youll get 100% more power.

Try not to buy any of these hybrid gpu jobs, ie the one that intel and amd/nvidia gfx cards. They bring about more problems then not. CPU will neck before gpu if yhe gpu is good enough.
