lennyvalente
Hey Guys! So i had to reinstall Skyrim the other day, and as soon as the game was installed i started modding it up a bit just how I like, but when I went to play, it was on windowed mode. This also means that any mod I install, I can't activate it because my Data Files option on login isnt available, and it also means that I can't save anything because the Saved Games folder doesn't exist. So I went on My Documents / My Games / Skyrim in order to find the SkyrimPrefs.ini to change the resolution but the folder is empty. I tried creating the folder but the .ini files weren't even in the Skyrim folder in ProgramFiles/Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim. Eventually I found SkyrimPrefs.ini in ProgramFIles/steam/steamapps/common/skyrim/skyrim which I hadn't seen before but changing that did nothing. Then I tried finding them online but I can't even place them in the Skyrim folder because it says the file can't be found so no success. Then i read that I could go on the Steam app and try to Verify Integrity of Game Cache but that didn't work either. I don't know What to do. I recently upgraded my Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro. I don't know if that effected it in any way. My computer System:ToshibaSatellite L755Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30 GHz6.00 GB64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor Can someone help me? xwizzard
I had this exact problem. I scanned the disk for deleted files, checked for previous versions, nothing. As if the files were never there! Turns out they never WERE! Windows 10 has built-in OneDrive sync for any Microsoft attached account. I had since deactivated OneDrive sync which broke the links from my local Documents folder to OneDrive. All of my saves were still in OneDrive. Copied my saves back to the local folder and everything is back to normal.
