Too many mods?

My problem is that after installing exactly 37 mods my game started getting infinite loading screens but when I uninstalled one and thus had 36 mods, everything was fine again. So my question is that truly this is the most mods you can have and if possible, how can I increase this amount? Any answer would be appreciated!

Looks like you just had one mod that wasn't compatible with the rest of your mods that you had in skyrim, or it was corrupted. I regularly run over 300 mods, all is well.

Might be mistaken but this is a Witcher 3 question not a Skyrim one. :ermm:

There is seems to be a limit of how many texture re-placers that can be active at one time. I have posted the exact same question on CDRed forums, the general consensus was that there is an upper limit for texture and script mods. Though there was disagreement at what the actual number was. FYI, I have 48 mods running with about 10 of those being texture re placers and another 18 being scripted mods. Current build is stable so the only definitive answer I can give is what experience has proved viable. Hope that helps.

if you combine script mods into 1 or 2 folders only but keep their original folder paths this will reduce your total folder count under Witcher3/mods and will help some with the infinite loading screen problem. I too had this problem but mine was around 45-50 folders total inside mods. I had to combine most of my textures into 2 mods. So now I only have 14 folders total now. There is a tutorial on cdpr forums on how to combine mods you downloaded here on nexus into 1 or 2 mods.
