Official Oblivion Mods - Freezing after registration

Recommended Posts

I finally bought and downloaded Knights of the Nine, the Orrery, and a few other official mods. After entering my registration code, the installer looked like it was about to open up, but instead just sat there with the load bar at 100%. I even let it sit for about an hour, before shutting it down through Task Manager. This happened with all the downloaded official mods I got. I have been looking for a few hours and I can't find any helpful information on how to fix this. I read another post where someone was having the same problem, and someone replied saying it was an issue with the registry because the mods alter the registry, which is not unusual. I just don't know why this would cause a problem with the mod installation itself. There were no actual suggestions on how to fix it though, short of calling Bethesda tech support.

If I missed the thread where this is dealt with thoroughly I apologize, but all my googling and forum searching did not find it. So, if anyone else is having this problem...hopefully some solution might be found here. Please help if you can!

EDIT: I forgot to mention I have NOT patched up to Obliv 1.2 yet, but am patched up to the one before that (1.1.5 or close to that). But that seems beside the point, because the installer won't even START...so...

Well no one replied as of yet. But I did manage to finally get on to the UESP Wiki site and they have a number of suggestions for dealing with this very problem. If you are having this problem, try the suggestions here

I have problems accessing that site. I don't know if it goes down for periodical maintenance, the server gets overloaded or what, but sometimes I just can't get there.
