Argonians! Khajit! Stand up my fellow brothers!

Well, I searched and searched but it seems like not too many modders take the fact that there are lizards and felines in the game...

For one thing, I've tried several mods that pretty much clip through the models due to the abnormality of the two beast races. Not many armor/clothes mods out there that actually go along with the beast races.

Second, in terms of gameplay, no mods have been released that really take into consideration that the Argonian is a lizard and the Khajit is a cat. I'm not talking too extreme here (even though the idea of a mod that allows Argonians to climb walls does sound hot) but it just feels like the beast races are getting no love (and not in a bestiality kind of way, pervert :)).

There are some out there... The point is that some of the stuff you want just isn't possible do to how alot of things are setup in Oblivion. The tail slot is one of the few places you can wear equipment, and not block everything else. Climbing walls, not possible. The main fact is that most people play either elves or human races, with some going with some of the furry friendly custom races. Just be glad you can wear boots and helmets this time around, even if the texturing on some of the shoes is wrong. Maybe one of these days a modeler will get bored and do some neat tail armors or something, beyond that, I wouldn't count on anything.

about being able to wear boots... in Morrowind, the Khajiit and Argonians both had very unique features that made them seem less humanoid (ie: claws, paws, splayed feet, etc.) but now in Oblivion they simply look like some one took an animal head and popped it onto a human... not only does this peeve me to no end but also makes Morrowind feel like a more realistic game in my mind... (creature wise at least) the limiters that making a beast race formed (no armor points from helmet/boot) made playing as a beast that much more challenging... yes, it was a handy cap. I've heard on another forum, an idea that would have khajiit on all fours when running/sneaking (but in a more humanoid form since khajiit are bipedal in nature.) also returning to how Argonians had an effective "waddle" like how you would expect a lizard like biped to walk... but the main thing I want to see... the one peeve I want addressed more than anything. Beast races do not have human feet! they look so awkward in Oblivion now...

if I ever saw any of these additions I would be ecstatic

maybe... is there a way to port Morrowind Meshes into Oblivion?

that might satisfy me...

thanks,

-me

The reason Bethesda did that is because they're lazy. By making kajiits and argonians moer humanoid, they can use the same clothes and armour meshes and the same animations. It's such a pity...

Wouldn't do any good, walking, sneaking, and other NPC animations are all the same in Oblivion, in morrowind, they were seperated, so even if you did manage to get something like that working, you'd have no way to put it into game without making everyone else move exactly the same way. I would imagine that Bethsoft did it this way so that they wouldn't have to have seperate animation groups, and have to spend months reweighting all the models to work with the new groups as well as the standard ones. Blame it on the more complex models.

Maybe you should have read my post :P . I already said just that. They didn't want to have to use different animations.

Though it can be easy to sculpt boots into looking like webbed feet... or something along those lines. Make a few helmet models that work off the curves and edges of a beast face.

I would imagine they would be some-what popular mods since they would add much more diversity to the beast race since, as mentioned, its gone in Oblivion.

Climbing walls, not possible.

Well actually, this'll be a feature of Thieves Arsenal, when it's updated. Something with special gloves. Of course it'll require OBSE, like all the other features of that mod.
