Question about my system performance.

Hello,

I just purchased oblivion the other day and got it up and running on my computer. I have followed most of the optimizing guides, etc. Now the system is as afollows.

Dell 8400

Pentium 4 3.4Ghz 540 Hyperthreading

Mainboard Intel 925x - model # 81082FB I believe.

1024MB (2x512) DDR2 SDRAM 533Mhz

160 Sata HD 7200rpm

nVidia geforce 6800 256mb pcie

16x phillips dvd-rom burner

17" LCD Flat Panel

 

I am getting stable performance at 1024x768 bloom lighting med textures at around 30FPS +/- 10 . The slider settings are turned somewhere between where they are for medium and high quality.

 

Questions.

Does having the updated version of .Net Framework affect performance?

Optimizing XP pro to play this better?

Should I be getting better performance?

 

 

Anyone tried playing this on a dell?

Anyway of making sure my drivers are all updated? The dell site say's their are no new updated drivers, but it only had version 73.xx nvidia drivers on their site so I am guessing it's not very reliable. I don't really want to spend the time to check each and everyone and when I use the update driver buttons in the device manager it doesn't pick anything new up? Do I have to update the updater or something heh:).

 

If you have any tips or if you have a dell and have adressed some of these issues any help would be greatly appreciated.
