The Witcher Redux: Abigail, Mob and Beast...Possible Spoiler for Some

Playing original Witcher again before moving up to 2 and 3. Just a vent in passing: The scene where Geralt decides whether or not to save Abigail and then runs into the Beast is quite probably the most annoying in the entire game. Can't save at any point between dealing with the mob and running into the Beast. Get whacked and one is continually forced to go back through the mob scene and listen to their rant. Can't remember how I dealt with the Beast the first time. Been many years.

You probably had enough time to get over this fight that was so annoying for you, but here are a few tips for people who'd have similar problems here.

Before you leave the cave you have time to prepare for what's ahead. Make sure you have these potions ready-Blizzard (very short duration, but it will help EXTREMELY in this fight, have this one in your armor slot, Swallow and Tawny Oil. In the first Chapter you have an opportunity to aquire the recipe for Specter Oil or one vial of said oil, getting the recipe pays off much better, of course. Apply the oil in the cave and you'll have twice the damage against the Beast and the barghests. Drink the Tawny Oil because its duration should last even through the dialogues and cutscenes, save the two other potions for when you face the Beast. After you regain control of your character, immediately drink Blizzard (the Beast and the bargests will have trouble hitting you, just keep in mind the effect lasts in-game 20 minutes only). Drink Swallow quickly in succession, so that you're being constantly healed and do your best against the Beast, try to end the fight as quickly as you can by focusing on the boss the most.

There's also a case of a potential overlooking by CDPR that the Beast is stronger when you side with Abigail, this mod adresses this issue: Reverend is guilty at The Witcher Nexus

Good luck to anyone having a problem with fighting the Beast, keep in mind it's the ultimate challenge of the first chapter, so don't underestimate it and prepare accordingly.
