How to use mods that change the script?

Recommended Posts

I presume the question is: why doesn't my game load? Answer: the mod versions are using scripts that are not compatible with your version of the game.

If you want a more specific answer then state your game version and the mods that you are attempting to load, but more than likely the answer will be the same.

Read the file descriptions of any mod that you want to use. Most authors will state what version it works with, then read through the posts to see if there are issues that users have experienced.

I tried using this mod

http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/496/?

It says its for 1.11 and I'm on 1.11 but I get this when loading

Error [content0]game\behavior_tree\tasks\monsters\bttaskmaintainspeed.ws(10): Class 'CBTTaskMaintainSpeed' already defined.
Error [content0]game\behavior_tree\tasks\monsters\bttaskmaintainspeed.ws(74): Class 'CBTTaskMaintainSpeedDef' already defined.
Error [content0]game\behavior_tree\tasks\reactions\bttaskisman.ws(4): Class 'CBTCondIsMan' already defined.
Error [content0]game\behavior_tree\tasks\reactions\bttaskisman.ws(15): Class 'CBTCondIsManDef' already defined.

I presume you are using V-2.2 Well I also use the mod but V- 2.1 which is also compatible with V-1.11 and HoS. Why not try that to see if it works for you?

Just to cover all the bases, have you used Script Merger to see if there are scripting conflicts with other mods?

I'm not using any other mods at the time. Do I still need to use that? Trying 2.1 is giving me the same thing as 2.2 does, so it does not work.

No you only need Script Merger for combining multiple mods, still it's a necessary tool for modding W3, so hang on to it.

I'm sorry that I have not been able to steer you to a solution. Best suggestion is to take this to CdRed forums where their level of expertise is better than mine.

Ive had sucess with

A - downloading the localization fix mod. http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/897/?
B - Installing the scripts for my patch level. http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/365/ (the scripts folders for patch 1.10 and 1.11 are on this mods download page)

I couldnt get any mods containing scripts to work until I did the above. Now script mods compile with no issues.

Arrg....I should be hung out to dry for forgetting 'Custom Localization Fix'..fortunately leapinglizard was not so absent minded. Any mod that affect the Options Menu requires it, you will still need to run Script Merger after you install CLF and Slots.

I apologize Fadetoblack. No excuse.
