inability to patch

I'm another suffer of this problem; run the patch off a fresh install (no CD crack or anything) and the same problem hits. I have the Australian version of the game and I'm using the patch that came on the disc version of Knights of the Nine (I'll get back to you on which specific version of the 1.1.511 patch I'm talking about, it's either the finalenglish one or the ukenglish, I don't have the disc with me to check). This is really bugging me as I only have dial up, don't like to download many mods and I've finished just about every quest in vanilla Oblivion (couldn't do Mazoga's quest; the guards killed her).

 

If someone could please find out what the hell's causing this and figure out how to fix it, it would be very helpful.

 

EDIT: I've got it. Stupid me for not looking around more. The finalenglish version of the patch which I tried to use from the KotN disc was for North America; I have to use the UK english patch. I don't know whether it's on the KotN disc, but I'm just gonna download it.

i read that if the game wont install (cant find matching name) then to dl the v1.1511patch which i did, but it had the same issue when i tried to install it about not finding a matching name.

Your problem may occur because of obmm, and its achiveinvalidation (or something like that), because sometimes obmm not only modifies ArchiveInvalidation.txt, but also BSA archives directly! When you try to patch the game, the installation file does not recognize modified files, so there is no update. Of course it can be something else that edits BSA archives, like WyreBash or some mods with installers. To solve this use obmm comand BSA un-corrupter (as far as I remember) on all BSA archives. Should work.
