RelicDuDe
Oooh, here's a new contender for the 'dying young and dumb' category. So I started a new character, and at this point he's fresh outta junior hi... err... outta Concord. Didn't do anything else. So I'm on my merry way to Tenpint Bluff, when I see a dude sitting by a trunk with a Rotweiler dog nearby. So I'm thinking, yippee, I already found the guy that sells extra dogs! Huzzah! Huzzah, I say! So instead of the usual staying crouched, in the shadows and at a distance, I get outta stealth and sprint to talk to him. Turns out it was three raiders and an attack dog. And I had just used up all my AP too  Well, at least he seemed just as surprised as I was when I ran in and tried to talk to him  Always wise to check them out with VATS first, before you either assume someone is friendly or worth shooting...;)
RelicDuDe
Well, let's just say that after exitting vault 111, I kinda took a long moonlit walk off a short cliff  Though the one that holds a special place in my heart was when I forgot I had put on the Silver Shroud outfit, hence I wasn't wearing the freefall leggings, and took, shall we say, a vertical shortcut off a building  Gravity sucks  There is a mod for you type of guys you know...;)
Moraelin
Well, I usually do check with VATS, but I kinda got a brainfart there. I really wanted that dog :p
RelicDuDe
How is his dog different from Dogmeat ?.... I mean.. a dog is a dog, right ?... (in a game anyway) They get in the way, get you killed when you want to sneak... etc... you know.. dog.
Moraelin
It's different from Dogmeat because Dogmeat is a companion, while the Junkyard Dog is, well, kind of settlement defense. You can't take her with you instead of Dogmeat or anything. You just send her to some settlement and she'll just lounge in and around the dog house, looking pretty and making everyone feel safer. (+5 defense and IIRC +5 happiness too? Not sure about the happiness any more, but definitely +5 defense.) Only, unlike Dogmeat or even the settlers she's supposedly protecting, she can die in an attack. Unfortunately, you can't use her and Dogmeat to make puppies. That would have been uber-cool. RelicDuDe
I didn't know that.. thanks for the info. I now got Curie for the first time... and I hate companions. There is always a bunch of stuff in a Fallout game i never know about... Me thinks Dogmeat would have liked that too... lol I suppose some modder will make that a reality once the Creation kit is out....

Deleted2433418User
it was glorious.. i think..My character decided to compete for the Darwin awards and therefore, promptly, after looting a Fatman and a mini-nuke..considered it a quite logical step to fire said fatman in an enclosed space, whatever happened to the shouldhavebeendead raiders in the Listening post i will never know..everything went noisy, white, red and i think i saw my grandma..and then it was taps... the runner-up is just embarrasing..it was really going somewhere, had killed the guy who ordered Pizza(name s F.U.) and took the first elevator to the outside..forgot i was running and ....dicovered,too late, that i had exited to the roof... you know that old song "let me take you by the hands and guide you through the streets of London" ?? well my late, great character guided himself, headfirst, through the streets of Boston..as kun-fu-tze say.."when head meet pavement, head lose"so back to the vault... Moraelin
Ah, explosives are fun even without fatman. Especially when you have a rifle with scope, and one with, say, reflex sight. The same key holds your breath with one, but throws a grenade with the other. So yeah, trying to snipe with the wrong one indoors can go awfully wrong. Trying to snipe around some cars, doubly so  Especially if you have the artillery smoke grenade equipped
TheGreenLion
First time I died was a couple hours in at Satellite Station Olivia. And it was there that I smacked a Mole Rat loaded with mines up close and personal with a Tire Iron! Yeah it sucked.
