Naerc
Post any experiences here on things that just didn't seem to make sense, or that you can't figure out. :D Like this one thing, in the under works of the Televani Canton in Vivec, theres a boat have sunken in the water, when move the cursor on to it, "Rowboat" comes up, but I can't seem to figure out what exactly it does, and how to use it.
Luminus
Yeah, there are lots of things like that in Morrowind. I guess you could just say it is intricate detail. If i found a rowboat under the water somewhere, i don't think there would be alot i could do with it either. Luminus
Malchik
I started a topic called missing quests which pointed out quite a few bits and pieces where it seemed as if there should be a quest attached and there wasn't. Then there was the pool of forgetfulness and the barricaded door in Dagon Fel that came up later. From various responses, I believe Bethesda were intending to have quests associated with necromancy at one point but dropped the idea. Some of the quirks might well have been left over from the initial plans. Others are local colour. There are boats that have not sunk, but you can't use them either. Interestingly (off topic) in one of my games all the gondolas in Vivec tilted at an angle of 90 degrees! So there you are!
Blackmage
My boats in Vivec seem to be on a 90 degree angle. Some of them have actuaclly flipped over so they're upside down... it's sort of disturbing knowing that I'm traveling around in these things... Limorkil
There are plenty of things that make no sense in Morrowind. Best thing to do is to not look at the world too closely. Here's a few I can think of: 1. Near Gnisis a woman asks you to find her ring that fell into the pool. It is actually an ambush and she attacks you when you find the ring. Thing is, if she was planning an ambush, why would she bother actually putting a ring in the pool? Why not just lie about the ring and attack me when I am in the pool? 2. One quest has you don a helmet as a disguise to pretend to be a particular agent of a house. Based on the name of this agent, it is clearly a woman, probably an Imperial or some other 'human' race. So if your character is male, or an orc, a khajit or an argonian, it is somewhat surprising that you can pass as the agent just by wearing a helmet. 3. If you are a vampire, everyone knows you are a vampire, even if you cover your face etc. How? 4. If you wear full indoril armor and go to Vivec, the Ordinators attack you on sight. How do they know you are not an Ordinator? And if they know you are not an Ordinator, why do they feel the need to attack you for pretending to be an Ordinator? 5. How did the dreamer woman in Vivec manage to kill all those people, most of them without a fight? It's a pretty neat trick being able to take out two Ordinators at once without either of them drawing a weapon. If she carried a jinkblade it would make sense, but she doesn't. 6. There are smugglers all over the coast, but where are they smuggling from? The island is in an inland sea, with Morrowind all around except to the north. So they are really just taking stuff from one part of Morrowind to another. 7. Where are all the children? 8. Come to think of it, where are all the toilets? Malchik
Go further - Since the only thing about you that changes when you become a vampire are the eyes and teeth - how come nobody recognises you? And when you are cured they seem to forget you ever sank your teeth in them. Why, even after the curse has gone does nobody ever sleep? It's annoying to be fined for sleeping in someone else's bed when they never use it. How come the food never goes off? If it happens to the kwama eggs around Therana (as we are told it does) why do the eggs look just like all the others? Why when there are pens, paper and ink, can you not write anything? (Well, thats an assumption actually, I've never tried.) How come, if the Dunmer get so uptight about tomb robbing, no one ever talks to you about it? OT - this office has a plague of bluebottles (yes, even in London's cold, soggy November). I have just been (accidentally I hope) sprayed with fly killer. If you never hear from me again, you'll know it is a very effective pest remover! :bye: :bye: :bye:
LALALA
Upside-down gondolas are really weird. As Blackmage said it is really disturbing when you travel with those things.
Bad_Skeelz
Heres some stuff I've noticed on my random journies across Morrowind: 1) Why does the Ordinator High Command, who are perfectly cool with you wearing Indoril and talking to them, not bother to tell the Ordinator Grunts that there is some guy running aronud legally wearing Indoril? 2) Why are the Bouyant Armigers, supposedly the best warriors in Vvardenfell, armored in chitin? 3) Why do Indoril smiths not seem to believe in the merits of pants? 4) How come House Telvanni seems to know I'm the guy who looted thier vault, when I made sure to kill all the guards and dump the bodies? 4a) Why do they not attack me after I've looted money and equipment worth several million in gold from them? 5) For a magic-oriented house, the Telvanni seem to carry alot of weapons around. 6) Where does all the gold come from? 7) If there isonly 1 diamond mine in Morrowind, how did the Dwarves get their hands on so many? 8) Why do some Dremora turn to dust when they die, while others just fall over and stay there? And why can't you get armor off of them? <_< 9) Do the Camona Tong in Hla Oda honestly expect nobody to open the giant trapdoor in the floor of the tradehouse and look into their "secret" hiding place? 10) The Camona Tong seems strangely unintrested in the fact that you wiped out the Balmora branch. 11) The ghost fence only seems to go up for about 100 feet, and things can obvioulsy go over it (Aka the Blight, cliff racers, Blighted Cliff Racers...). Why doesn't Dagoth Ur load his non-existant army onto cliffracers and fly them over? 12) Also, he seems to ignore the fact the Imperials have numerous mines inside of the Fence, and that you can also dig under it (as shown by the mines going deep into the mountains on which the Ghost Fence rests on). 13) Is their a point to the Deadra in Ald Ruhn, besides taunting him into attacking you? Well that's all I can think of now, carry on.
GrizzlyUK
13) Is their a point to the Deadra in Ald Ruhn, besides taunting him into attacking you? Do you mean the one in the Maar Gan Shrine, which is part of a Tribunal Temple quest?
Marxist ßastard
Limorkill 1: To provide more of a distraction. If someone is diving right into the water with his hand on a ring, it would be much easier to get a free hit off of him than it would be if he were simply looking for a ring. Limorkill 3: In dialogue, it is said that most NPCs don't trust anyone that doesn't take off their helmet. That, and the fact that your voice is somewhat distorted should give you off pretty easily. And the smell... Don't get me started about the smell... Limorkill 6: Atmora? Skyrim? Perhaps it's that most of the smugglers are part of a much larger chain... Limorkill 7: Most of the settlers came from the mainland of Morrowind or from a province of the Empire other than Morrowind -- anything under 18 would be left behind because of the Blight. The rest are elves, which are selectively fertile. The official explanation? Children + Freeform Game + Katana = Lawsuit Limorkill 8: That's what buckets and hatches into the Vivec Underworks are for. Skeelz 5: What happens when you run out of Magicka? Skeelz 6: The Imperial City. Skeelz 7: They sucked the mountains dry -- because of their technilogical advancement, they could extract the diamonds more efficiently. Skeelz 13: The Dremora in Maar Gan is part of a Temple quest. Read the rock.
