SoraDrive
I need help with installing mods in FNV.I downloaded the WMX weapon pack, I extracted and I put it in the FNV Data folder. Clicked on the launcher, data files and ticked the WMX weapon pack. Got into the game, and 2 notifications appeared "Weapon Sort: Mod" or something like this. I opened the Pip Boy, and no mods! And yes, I did click X (mod) on the weapons. After that, I clicked on the Mod Manager, Package Manager, Add FOMod, the WMX, Activate, launch FNV and still nothing!Any help? BTW!: I installed the true 3rd person mod and it did work! I also tried some other weapon mods, Fellout, and none of them work.
KennethKarl
Ever since I had to reinstall FNV I always use the FOMM package manager. It helps especilally if your a begginer. Extracting them works, but if you screw up... It's, it's bad.Tell me do you know how to use the FOMM package manager?
drakeelvin
The two most likely reasons are either: 1. It should be at the bottom of your load order. Go into Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) and drag it down to the bottom of the list. 2. Archive Invalidation. It's mentioned in the WMX installation procedure but I couldn't explain this subject if I tried. All I know is that ever since it changed quite some time back I haven't got it to work again and I've tried all the suggestions for mods I'd used in the past that no longer work. (BSA, new .txt, editing ini settings.) What's frustrating is some people seem to get it to work using these methods. That said, likely the best source of help is going to be at the WMX link itself, its a pretty active thread, you should post your problem in the comments section there. http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39651 Edited April 9, 2011 by drakeelvin

Ivanish
Installing WMX with FOMM is a picnic, and it worked like a charm and I love the mod. I have however read dozens of readme files, several FAQ's and loads of instructions on the Nexus to know a bit about how to install something correctly. NOt that I'm an expert or anything, but I can fix most issues with my mods by myself. Read through the readme files carefully and do what is asked in there. The author of WMX knows what he's talking about, so follow the instructions there. Also, if you really don't know what he means, or how to do a specific thing, then read up on what it means. Don't rush though this, if you get some proper knowledge on how to install mods and troubleshoot, you'll have a lot less head aches in the future, so invest these few hours right away! A big problem with the Fallout games (3 and NV) and using mods for them is that it seem so easy, but can be such a pain if done wrong. Don't be afraid to be a newbie, read everything you can find to instruct you.
