Fallout 4 - Settler management?

Yah, I'm having same issue.

The devs provided zero means to tell who is tasked to what.

I like the hat idea and will stop melting hats. Will have to do until someone can figure out a proper mod managment for all this.

I"ve yet to figure out how the salvage bench works. I task one of them to it but have no clue how to get them to salvage

garbage I collect... sorry offtopic.

When I do assign one to that table, they just end up wandering around or beating on the wall of some building with a hammer.

LoL. /boggle.

I though that they just "collect" junk and that goes into the workbench storage. Love the game, disappointed with the management part of it.

Maybe that is why mine end up doing nothing. I pretty much cleaned the camp out before having settlers occupying. Nothing lest to scarf unless

random stuff pops from time to time.

I've cleaned up everything from my settlements, but the settlers still use the salvage benches when instructed to. They do wander around pointing their guns in the air most of the time, as scrapping doesn't seem to be a full time job for them. I'm not sure how huge of an impact this is having on my junk, though.

Yeah that's another problem with the scrapping bench and the shops. While the shops you at least know what your gain is after going to check your Misc in the workbench (which is very silly by the way, can't there at least be like a safe or something they put the money in? Who stores money in a workbench...), you have no way of knowing what your scrappers actually collected ever.

What settlements really need are some sort of "progress report" system, that details how much money your shops made, how much they will make over how long a period of time, what your scrappers collected and how much, what your total gain is, what the gain is since the last time you checked (or visited) ect.

Just a big list of statistics on how you're benefiting and such. There's no way anyone would ever do this in reality without good record keeping and right now there's NO WAY to record keep in-game in an effective manner. You could maybe record keep outside of the game in a notebook or something but that seems way too tedious and something you as the player shouldn't really have to do.

Creating a random name generatior to the settlement part of the game was too creative for this programing group so we are stuck with lots of people with the same title of Settler and/or Worker instead of forcing us to keep notes. But we need to know a person's limit first and we can't do that without names(labels) and the ablity to track them.

A person can water at least 4 plants but I'm not sure if that is their max and I'm not sure if they are able to do another job in addition to food. I'm 24 hours into this game and I sware I have seen Jun Long watering food while keeping guard. Fallout 4 was made out of the best Fallout 3 mods, in a few months the modders will fix these problems....

A single settler can tend six plants, or six points worth of Defense assets (not necessarily in the same spot in the settlement, in either case). You can't assign them to more than one job, as the "Assign" option takes them out of one job when you assign another. =^[.]^=
