being unable to save hmm you really put a lot in this? the game is messed up and buggy by the default so this mods will be bad addition since random ctd and crash always happens

I don't think they mean unable to save at all. I think they mean that rather than save, die, reload and try again, so not being afraid of failing, that there would be cool ways your character, "dies", or w/e, making it worth NOT just reloading. So like, if a building full of super mutants was really hard, you could save first, then keep trying over and over until you finally did it. However, if you saved, died, but then your character woke up in a cage, and you had to escape, find your stuff, and get out, it may tempt a lot of users away from, "save scumming", and they may choose to not just reload and, "erase", their failures

I think someone somewhere suggested using the synth creation machine as a way to "rebuild" your body when you die.

Just mentioning it because I think it's a cool alternative as well. =)

This would be a very very good idea indeed!

It is indeed to give an alternative to save/load try again.

When i die +3 times on more or less the same place and keep returning to a savegame (i play on survival game now so it is always the bed) but when i save around every corner it is just the same i feel like f*#@ this game.

And when i then have all other kind of things to do before i can try again it would keep me challenged. There is nothing more stupid then having the last hour played and keep returning to a save game having achieved nothing att all.

When you have to do other things when you die you also keep your xp from everything you always do! And perks like the armorer and gunnut will be more appriciated since you would be more often crafting new armor cuz you lost your old...

I played fallout NV and skyrim with this mod and it was 10 times more satisfying then save/load.

And for as far as i am concerned it does not have to be fancy at all. Die> respawn with only your quest items in the nearest or random or static allied settlement and try again.

i think this would be a brilliant addition to fallout but i don't think that not dying all the time is the best thing honestly, i mean being shot in the head and "fainting" and not dying but waking up in a raiders den isin't exactly immersive.... But being bashed over the head with a wooden board and then waking up captured by supermutants is

I agree Death Alternative was one of my favorite mod, specialy when you go survival and where death is at every corner... instead of reloading/retry you have your journey that continue but on a different path(harder one), its seamless and immersiv.

Of course death have to occur sometimes but alternate death is really improving the gaming experience ! I hope someone will try to adapt the mod from Skyrim to Fallout 4 since Fallout world is only asking for this...
Cant wait to wake up in a Mutant gore bag or to sneak from the institute.

I think a neat way of handling it might be that if you get taken down to 0 hp, you fall down like essential characters or companions do, and are given like a secondary pool of HP that is by default steadily draining.

while down, you move super slow, accuracy/aim is terrible, and your vision is slowly blacking out.

During this state...

-Your companion can help you back up, if they are themselves still ok.

-You cannot use any aid until combat is over.

If you manage to pass out during this

The game randomly determines, based on certain criteria, what happens to you.

-You and your companion might end up captured by human enemies, your gear stolen, and you must negotiate a release, find a way to break out, or wait a random amount of time for an allied faction to bust you out. Your gear ends up being used by an enemy boss (if raiders or gunners) or in a crate

-You got left for dead near where you passed out, maybe in a ditch, or behind a dumpster. Your stuff is stolen and your companion kidnapped.

-You and your companion got left for dead near where you passed out, maybe in a ditch, or behind a dumpster. Your stuff is stolen.

-You wake up momentarily to see one of your allied factions show up, guns blazing to rescue you. You pass out again, and wake up at a nearby settlement or faction base.

-You were fighting feral ghouls, or assorted mutant animals that were extra hungry or the enemy wasn't taking prisoners that day, you die.

-You were fighting feral ghouls, or assorted mutant animals, your gear is scattered to various critters and nearby areas, you and your companion wake up in a debris pile.

-You momentarily regain consciousness to see your companion dragging you from combat. Regain consciousness in a random relatively nearby safe location. Some of your gear is scattered and needs tracking down.

It was actually a very popular mod. Also, saving, reloading, dying, reloading, dying, reloading, dying, reloading, success, is not very immersive either. Also, shot in the head and not dying? Um...have you played Fallout New Vegas? lol

Hahaha true

How about your data is auto uploaded to a new Synth body at a secure Institute location.

This assumes you side with the Institute or haven't destroyed them....

The institute would indeed be the most logical form of return when you die and if you insist you could revive in a forgotten sinth bunker or something and still appose against the sinths.

However the whole fallout story should not be around sinths.

Then again should there be a whole story behind it?

Just like you said load/save isn't immersive either...
