pmnavatar
To all the great modders out there: (I hope I'm not violating any rule by doing this, it's just to show everyone what I'm talking about)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eX1ksPHVhs - watch 3:39, 5:16, 6:05 and 6:38. That would be a great power attack, a ranged power attack for a sword master. Can anyone make this? a flying energy blade that is unleashed with a swing of a sword and damages enemies at distance? I think it would make a great mod, feel free to give your opinion :D
pmnavatar
Here's the energy blade I'm talking about (it's the blue "thing", that is projected to the enemy by a swing of a blade - the images aren't very good, but it's the best I can get) I think it would be usefull for every non-mage, non-archer character that wants a ranged attack, especially for those pesky mages that keep running around healing themselves and summoning creatures, really annoying in my opinion
Vagrant0
For all intensive purposes, it couldn't be done the way you want. Spell visuals are hard coded and locked, as there isn't a spell bolt/ball that looks anything like that, you couldn't do it. Visuals aside, while it is possible to get the direction the player is facing, there isn't any way through scripting to determine what specifically they're looking at or have in their crosshairs. As you need two points, the players location, and a point marking where the player is aiming in order to have anything fired from the player to the target, it cannot be done. While a two part process, one where the player uses a spell to mark a target, and another that causes the projectile to be shot might work, it would be very complicated, and be less efficient than just using a spell in the first place. Kinda makes you wish they kept the morrowind style of enchantments.
