Tempuser9999
is there any way to make corpse stay longer ?playing a sniper is not fun, when your prey just not there anymore by the time you get to it.i've sniped all riders on Assembly Plant and when i move in to loot the bodies, they weren't there.there is 0 logic for such fast despawning.yet some corpses may stay for ingame days. i'm pretty butthurt over all the bugs that the game have, especially low textures one and broken LOD. DarkPurity
Agreed. This is necessary. It's like, 2 minutes. It needs to be hours or until cell reset.
SGHi
Yeah. Killed 3 raiders with my sniper rifle and spent some time (5-10 mins maybe) walking around and went back to loot them... No corpses and no loot. :nuke:
shoe7ess
With the blood spatter mod there's a command to add to the Fallout4.ini that edits the decals of the splatter to last longer (fDecalLifetime=x [x being however long, default for mod is 800.00]). I'd assume one exists for corpses. I could have sworn you used to be able to see bodies forever after they had died in past generation bethesda games, but I may be thinking of a past mod, so not completely sure. FireAndNails
This is a must. I sniped around a dozen or more raiders including a Legendary at Dunwich Boring and by the time I got down into the quarry to loot them, only three remained. There must be some way to increase the time it takes for corpses to despawn. It would be best if corpses with loot, especially Legendary ones, persisted for a good long time, and empty corpses had a short timer.
Fellwolf
Very much needed. Otherwise there is no interest to be had in enjoying the environment/battlefield. You can't take the time to explore a recent battle site, because you have to rush in and loot everything as the bodies begin to disappear before your eyes. You can't explore, in other words. Richwizard
There is such a mod. It was first uploaded shortly after this thread was started. It is called "Piles of Corpses - Increased De-Spawn Timer". https:www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1770
Deleted49413338User
I have never seen this issue, usually bodies seem to last a long time and occasionally in settlements, seem to last so long that I cant get rid of them and need to manually drag them away. It might already be a feature of a mod I'm using maybe, but, have you ever played Ghost Recon Wildlands? that game has the worst body de-spawn timer ever. its instant as soon as you look away and look back.. Its the only major flaw otherwise I would enjoy that game a lot more.
Vanguardascendant
The Game Configuration Menu mod also has a "corpse despawn" setting slide that you can adjust. That being said, I've never had a problem with corpses despawning that fast. I wonder if the default setting for that is based on your processor and graphics settings. Lower end PCs might do well by having corpses despawn faster to reduce the processor load. That's just an educated guess though.
Deleted49413338User
I also generally play with an altered timescale. I like setting it to about 6-10 default is 20. Meaning 1 hour of real time =20 hours game time. If set to 1 hour real time =6hours game time, I wonder if that effects despawn times. The linked mod seems to suggest it would. I hate seeing weathers change so rapidly and day night cycles happen so quick. I use 6 but I heard its safer to set it about 10-12 if playing vanilla quests.
