I really liked morrowind and i think it would be cool to have the ingredients from there as i miss it soooo much. im only asking someone else to do it because i cant use the CS for poo and i cant find the original meshes/make any good ones. 2. race specific weapons/armor. i got this idea from the Diablo series by Blizzard and it was really cool. there could be things like REALLY big axes that only Orcs can use or maybe bows that only wood elves can use. with this i would also like to see the claw weapons brought into the game (from diablo aswell) coz they are really good. anyways, i just thought it would be good to have these in the game so if u dont like them...... Parkillous Posted April 10, 2007 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Your second idea is actually really good... im constantly looking for ways to make initial char creation choices have a significant impact on your later game (sick of all characters being exactly the same in the end)... pity i myself wouldnt know how to make a mod like this... elpiggo Posted April 10, 2007 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Both of them would require somebody to model and texture each ingredient and armour, which would take a lot of time, effort and skill. Unless you're willing to pay for new weapons/armour, I suggest you ask for something more realistic. They are good ideas, but they probably won't be done. SlappyMeats Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 There's a mod that does a part of the second idea; not race-specific gear, but claws. It's called Claws and Monk Gear. As for the race-specific gear, that's not too tough...if you have the mesh and texture for the item you'd like to use already. The coding is cake, it doesn't even require OBSE. Let's use the Daedric Battle axe as an example: Attach a script to the Daedric Battle axe that checks to see if the player is an orc (or if anybody is, for that matter, since you don't want a breton NPC to run up and dust you with it). If the character is not an orc, make the item be unequipped. Hell, shouldn't true orcish armor only be for orcs anyway? Slip that script on some of it, and no matter how hard that argonian tries to cram in it, it'll spit him right out! Not a bad idea, certainly very doable. Parkillous Posted April 12, 2007 Share Posted April 12, 2007 You might wanna wait until the whole buggy patch/cs/expansion thing is fixed before you start, which is why I havent started my first mods yet (well the final releases anyway)... But on to ideas: I have plenty of ideas on how to edit vanilla armour and weapons... but the miriad of likely balance issues it presents is probably best avoided... Anyways; Item: Orcish Champion ArmourPrerequisites: Must be an OrcStats: Matches Ebony. Basically the same look as orcish armour, but the helmet modified to cover the whole face except the eyes, and modelled with the barring of ferocious teeth (ie make it look TERRIFYING)... stud as much of the armour as you can with things like spikes, especially the shoulder pads... cover the arms up completely... generally make it very heavy and very scary. Item: Elvish War Lord Armour. Elvish ArmourPrerequisites: Must be a High or Dark Elf.Stats: A little below Glass. Generally I think the oblivion elvan armour looks like a duck suit... which is very dissapointing. I think lord of the rings depicts the armour a lot better. just do your spin off of the above link... but please no duck suit. Item: Wood Elf BowPrerequisites: Must be a Wood Elf.Stats: tbh make this the best unenchanted bow in the game, the wood elves deserve it. Personally, I think something like legolas' bow would be fine, but whatever you want. Item: Great Axe.Prerequisites: Nord or Orc.Stats: Middling damage, but much heavier and better reach. Again, you decide... this is the other guys idea... just BIG. As I said most of my ideas are to do with the original stuff, but Im sure other people have requests.
