Mod advices

Hello everyone

Decided to replay this game again and wanted to ask a question - what mods should I try for fun and immersive experience. Somewhat that would add new fun stuff, put the spin on old one, pretty up game a bit and overall let me get new experience from this game? No anime and no sex stuff please)

I am playing again Fallout 3 before moving to Fallout 4, and I am building up my game, with some personal changes, besides the Good Old usual top Mods, and I am trying some Quest mods, still didn’t finish but I have them installed, here are some:

Ties that Bind (I am enjoing it);

Alton Il;

Fallout Zero;

The Institute;

Vault 691;

Vaul 101 Revisited;

Cube Experimental;

Reykjavik;

Back to Anchorage;

  • 2 weeks later...

recently i have noticed bethesda has posted a new version of fallout3 on their website http://patches.bethsoft.com/ which updates to v1.7 english.

however this removes the 'data' option on startup so no mods can be activated.

has anyone any advice as i am running v 1.0.0.12 straight from my original disc but this doesn't seem to recognise most of the dlc's.

That v1.7 patch is dated 2009. So it is not new.

My copy of the Fallout GOTY on disk does not have a DATA option on the startup, but I have no problems adding mods. Try using either FOMM or NMM to manage mods. Beth has never bothered to clean up the mess they made trying to use Games For Windows Live for FO3 on the PC version. So that could be a part of your problem. GFWL was not very mod friendly and caused several wacky problems. You need it to install, but after installation it can be disabled ( there are mods for this)
