Nofsdad
In the pictures I've seen of bolt action weapons, including a couple of variations on the old hunting rifle, they're all left handed. Is this true in the game and if so, why? In the real world, left handed bolt action conversions were extremely rare (and expensive).
mfskyrim
hmm yeah I think you are right. I'm not sure why. Animation purposes maybe? No clue really
Vagrant0
Animation purposes... So that the weapon is always glued to the right hand.
Nofsdad
Wow! Nothing like a healthy dose of "realism". This is a throwback compared to New Vegas as far as realism and immersion are concerned. And Fallout lore? Nothing but homemade and jury rigged homemade weapons (even though actual rifles and pistols exist in every other part of the Fallout world from Fallout 1 to New Vegas) except for a 10mm unlike any other in any wasteland, a crude double barrel shotgun and hunting and "sniper" rifles that had to be made backwards to suit the primitive game mechanics, no animations, no visible equipped weapons in third person, bullets and laser "beams" that seem to wander through weird arcs and over gyrating paths to reach their targets, guns that take up to 5-10 (or more for some enemies)) shots to kill certain enemies while the rest of the gang is blowing or beating your donkey off, even in VATS... and that's just the weapons/combat. Wish I'd known I was paying $60 for a copy of Stalker Goes to Boston. This may actually turn out to be a pretty good game but it has a very tenuous connection to the Fallout Universe and game mechanics as we've come to know them over the years. Hopefully the modders can help make it into more of an actual Fallout game but I suspect I'll be returning to TTW when all the hype wears off.
