GMEM
I'd be surprised if this hasn't been suggested yet. But what would make the building and workshop mode perfect if there wasnt any restriction to placing objects. Everyone just wants to place their objects where they want without worrying about colliding other objects. Just, place objects where you want. No red, just green, do you know what I mean? Maniac3020
I do. Whether it's placing Junk Fence walls around my settlement, or placing doors in the doorway of a pre-war house that I cannot demolish, it's really annoying to have objects no be placable. Especially when the game forces them to be off the ground, because of the collision mesh.
Ruszek83
I agree !!!We need this mod ASAP... Option "NO SNAP" - disable snap to objects and "NO CLIP" - place objects even when they are RED.
Astral Nexus
I want a mod that does this more than anything else right now. It's putting a serious damper on my creativity by limiting me in rediculous ways. It's especially annoying to play about in the game world and seeing the same objects placed by the game developers and they clearly were using no collision to place those same objects. :/
Kristubs
Was going to post my own thread about this but found this one, +1 bump....would love to see this mod! EDIT:Ruszek83, on 15 Nov 2015 - 02:21 AM, said: I agree !!!We need this mod ASAP... Option "NO SNAP" - disable snap to objects and "NO CLIP" - place objects even when they are RED. Yeees, a no snap along with a no clip and the ability to toggle both on and off in real time would be immensely helpful. Runestones
Add a free, flying camera to the mix while that character stays using the workshop with the same animation as the weapons workbench and BOOM we have a complete overhaul of the building system. tielebras
Actually there is a simple way to do it! Just type tcl in console. Grab an object, place it.Now you can place any other in this one...I search for ini tweak to do it but not found it yet.

You still can't clip through objects that have already been placed and of course there are many objects in game you can't pick up. Fortunately I did find a video on how to clip through any object in the game, it's tedious but it also gets the job done.
