teryaki
Shivering Isles, KotN, some DLC, a dozen or so mods, nothing that's supposed to alter or reference the dwarven cuirass in any way. Yet I've got adventurers wandering around without torsos. Including myself if I put one on. Any quick fix you folks can think of? I've re-installed this damn game three times in the last week just to get it to work this well with SI, I'm not gonna do that again.
ninja_lord666
I sugest reinstalling the game; nothing else will work...I just kidding :P Honestly, I have no idea what you should do. It may still be a mod, though. Sometimes modders accidentaly touch something and don't realise it. Then, when someone installs the mod, strange things happen. For example, I installed the mod Gem Price Fix, and now, all of a sudden, every gem has a different price! I don't know why that is. It's just one of those times where you have to scratch your head and say, "hmmm..."
teryaki
*bashes head on keyboard... one of the old steel-frame IBM ones... ow...* Re-installed. Mods are all turned off except the Refbug Fix, Cosmetic Compilation (needed for my PC's head), Knights Patch and Unofficial Oblivion Patch. Now the Watch Captains and Palace Guards are see-thru as well. Whee.....

I'm guessing at some time, within that save you had a custom mesh that was used by the dwarven curiass, or a mod that changed the armor to point to a different mesh. Extracting the default mesh from the .bsa and placing it in your data folder should fix this error. However as you're using 1.2, it isn't clear to say. Sure sounds like it just isn't finding the mesh, regardless the reason having the mesh being used in your data folder should fix it.

What he's describing seems pretty similar to what happens when you just remove custom body meshes, there is still the default ones within the bsa, but since they aren't loaded within that game, it can't properly find them. teryaki
Thanks both of you for trying, but I extracted the meshes, started a new character.... Still no good, so, I'll just live with it. Thanks for trying, though.
