Random glitches and problems...

Ok, I have been playing for a while now and have started seeing issues appear randomly. Let me describe them all.

 

1) My character's eyes are black. Now, most people would say this is a conflict between body mods, but I don't have any. I used to have Ren's, but I got rid of it because the black eye problem started when I downloaded it. I thought it had gone away when I uninstalled it because most NPC's eyes were back to normal. My eyes were still black, but I thought it was just because I had messed up a little when I uninstalled. However, now, every once in a while, I will also see an NPC with black eyes. It's wierd though, because some of the NPC's eyes would turn black, and then turn normal again. Could it be a missing texture? I didn't know people's eyes changed every few days, if it is.

 

2) When I unsheath my weapon, I automatically go into block mode and I cannot sheath my weapon again. I am basically stuck with my weapon out.

 

3) Not as big a deal, I just would like to know if there is any fix to the crash-on-exit problem.

 

4) My game has also been crashing a lot more often. Here is my load order.

Did you download the cosmetic resource pack that the Cobl races need?

 

By the way, you almost certainly do have more than one set of eye meshes which could be conflicting. You have Cobl Races, which has eyes with that. You have a custom race and at least one mod that adds NPCs.

 

Suggest you use Wrye Bash to resolve these problems. When you make your bashed patch, be sure to check the Race Records and any other boxes related to the mods you have which add NPCs or affect races.

You have things you have not completely removed, so you still have black eyes and messed-up block animations. In addition to removing the .esps, you also have to remove all the things like meshes and textures and the ghosts of the dead mods from your bashes patch.

When you install a program in addition to the esp file it also installeds mesh and texture files. Just deactivating the esp, or even removing the esp does not remove the meshes, textures and other files that are installed. Those files are still loaded every time your game starts.

 

Most mods do keep their meshes and textures in their own subfolders inside of the meshes and textures folders. try going into those, finding the subfolder with the name of that mod and moving it out of the data folder (don't delete it as you may have to put it back if it is the wrong subfolder.)

I had deleted all of the meshes and textures for Ren's when I uninstalled. I just uninstalled Cobl Races because I never really wanted it, I just thought I needed it to play. I don't think it was the problem though, because there were no textures or meshes for the races. I checked multiple times. I have already rebuilt the bashed patch correctly, so that can't be it. Now, I had said in my first post that I had messed up on the uninstallation of Ren's Beauty Pack. I meant that I didn't disable the file and make a clean save before I uninstalled everything. I was tired and was just trying to get it done. Could that be the problem?

 

 

Edit: It worked! I didn't realize it worked! It was Cobl Races. My character's eyes are back to normal.

Ok, I still have a crashing problem. I will crash randomly between half an hour to two hours into the game usually. Any ideas? I could use the help. :sweat:

 

Edit: Nevermind, it seems to only happen within that time period when I'm using Side's Sailing Ships to get somewhere around the provinces of Tamriel. I can't fix that. It's fine. Thanks to everyone for their help. :happy:

For the crash on exit, get Script Extender if you haven't already, and then download Fast Exit.

It's crashing because Bethesda programed the exit procedure to do things it doesn't really need to do (surprise surprise), and this plugin makes it work like it should.

I know I'm triple posting, but I have found ANOTHER problem. Certain textures will turn gray when I look at them a certain way. I can't really explain it. It seems to only happen with mods. I have seen it happen on some big rocks and some barricades added for Fort Akatosh Redux and I have seen it on some barricades in Fort Ordeal as part of the ImpeREAL Unique Forts mod.

 

 

I had a goof on my part where I deleted a couple of LOD files for the Anvil county, so the distant texture is purple. How should I fix that?
