Game crashes after lvl up screen

Hello everyone. I am having difficulties and was wondering if anyone can help.

I am currently at lvl 6, trying to get to lvl 7 lol The game freezes just after I choose what attributes I want to increase and hit the exit button!!! Control alt delete works, but when I try and hit the "end program" buttom, the whole computer freezes and I have to restart it. As soon as I hit that exit button, oblivion is a "non-responsive program" GARRRR!!! I have tried everything and cant seem to figure out the problem. I even re-installed oblivion, then transfered my saved files and mods back in and still........no avail.

I am currently running many mods including OOO and another one I should mention is martigens monsters mod.

All the other ones are basically new houses and weapons and stuff like that. Nothing that really effects anything serious.

I have even tried to disable all my mods and I am still having the same problem. Do you think it could be a corrupt save file?? Oh no I hope not lol!! THis is the third character I have had to start and I don't want to have to start anew.

I have shivering isles installed as well, but not knights of the nine. My system is pretty high end. I have a 7600 geoforce card with NVIDIA and 1000 RAM

My processor is 3.2 gigs and I have a sound blaster card.

Well Ill play the whole game at lvl 6 if I have to but I would rather not do that lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you very much,

Well, heres an update.....

I re-installed oblivion and started a new character and the same thing happened as before. When I tried to get to lvl 2, the game froze as soon as I hit the exit button......!!!!

Anyone have any idea what could be the problem??

EDIT: Merged your posts. Please use the edit button to add more rather than double posting. Thanks!
