Already on the hot files list, too. That's awesome.

Okay, cool as this is, it's so buggy right now that it's almost unplayable. On top of the known issues, my character seems to enter cover at random, even when there's nothing even remotely near to hide behind. She also leaves the camera behind when peeking out of cover, so I can't see what I'm aiming at. These are things to work on.
The standing/crouching cover controls are pretty wonky. Why not make the crouch key alternate between crouching and standing cover, and make whether the character gets into standing or crouching cover dependent on whether you're standing or crouching?
Also, is it impossible to do a proper keybind for this, instead of using the favourites menu? Is that something that we'll need to wait for until the script extender is released? Until then I'm using sprint to cover exclusively, and really wishing I had a better option because it's pretty wonky. Sometimes it takes several seconds to notice that I'm sprinting dead into a wall, other times when I'm sprinting I don't touch anything and go into cover.
Leaving cover is also difficult. It can take five, ten, even sometimes fifteen or twenty button presses to get out of cover. Walking backwards also does not exit cover, and walking away from the cover doesn't do it either. Why not have it disable cover once you are no longer within a certain distance of it, or no longer touching it? Clearly it can tell when you're near or touching cover because of the sprint to cover system, why not also use it to disengage cover?
I like what the mod's trying to do, and I'll definitely keep track of it as it develops, but for now I have to disable it until it is more developed.

Hey! I'm sorry you're having a bad experience.

Everybody's system is a little different and you may need to tweak the sprint-to-cover sensitivity to best suit your system. Sounds like it's currently too sensitive for you and brings you into cover even when you don't want to. There are presets in the Config, but sensitivity can be further tweaked to values that aren't in the presets with the console command:

cqf cover setsensitivity <desired value here>

A description of how to do this is in the FAQs section on the front page that I've *just* added.

For leaving cover, the key point is to give a single quick tap to the back button. You leave cover when the back button is released. This is an intentional decision - I could have set it to leave when you started pressing the button, but then you would lose the ability to move backwards in cover.

For keybinds, yes - will need the script extender for that.

I've also added a section to the FAQs that might be helpful for mobility during cover and moving from cover-to-cover!

As a benchmark, the videos I've linked to in the mod description accurately portray what the typical user should experience.
