ninja_lord666
If anyone plays Golden Sun, here's a thread where you can show off those characters you've worked so hard to get. Also, tell if your characters are from 1 or 2. We can discuss the game too, as there are secrets I'm sure many people don't know about. Golden Sun 2:Stats:>Name: Mia>>Level: 69>>Exp: 3965767>>Max HP: 1016>>Max PP: 438>>Attack: 595>>Defense: 379>>Agility: 322>>Luck: 32 >Name: Issac>>Level: 70>>Exp: 3965767>>Max HP: 1240>>Max PP: 247>>Attack: 769>>Defense: 415>>Agility: 475>>Luck: 11 >Name: Garet>>Level: 69>>Exp: 3965767>>Max HP: 1284>>Max PP: 261>>Attack: 715>>Defense: 438>>Agility: 287>>Luck: 6 >Name: Ivan>>Level: 69>>Exp: 3965767>>Max HP: 966>>Max PP: 415>>Attack: 590>>Defense: 371>>Agility: 561>>Luck: 8 Equipment:>Name: Mia>>Weapon: Lachesis's Rule (Attack +177, Unleashes Apocalypse)>>Helmet: Crown of Glory (Defense +40, PP Recovery +8)>>Shield: Jester's Armlet (Defense +39, Max PP +30)>>Cuirass: Iris Robe (Defense +47, Luck +15, Fire Resist +30, PP Recovery +12)>>Boots: Dragon Boots (Defense +13; Earth, Water, and Fire Resist +10 each)>>Ring: Spirit Ring (Restores 160 HP to all allies)>>Shirt: Mythril Shirt (Defense +10, Max HP +5)>>Other: Cloak Ball, Lifting Gem, Frost Jewel, and Douse Drop >Name: Issac>>Weapon: Sol Blade (Attack +200, Unleashes Megiddo)>>Helmet: Gloria Helm (Defense +49, HP Recovery +10)>>Shield: Riot Gloves (Attack +15, Defense +45, Increases Criticals)>>Cuirass: Valkyrie Mail (Defense +53, Increases Criticals)>>Boots: Golden Boots (Defense +15, Agility +30)>>Ring: Golden Ring (Raises Elemental Resistance)>>Shirt: Golden Shirt (Defense +12, Max HP +10)>>Other: Grindstone, Scoop Gem, Tremor Bit, Catch Beads, Carry Stone, and Trident >Name: Garet>>Weapon: Darksword (Attack +210, Cursed, Unleashes Acheron's Grief)>>Helmet: Fear Helm (Attack +10, Defense +48, Cursed)>>Shield: Terra Shield (Attack +5, Defense +48, Cursed)>>Cuirass: Stealth Armor (Defense +48, Earth Resist -10, Cursed)>>Boots: Hyper Boots (Defense +4, Increases Criticals)>>Ring: Cleric's Ring (Removes a curse's effects)>>Shirt: Mythril Shirt (Defense +10, Max HP +5)>>Other: Burst Brooch, Orb of Force, and Pound Cube >Name: Ivan>>Weapon: Tisiphone Edge (Attack +178, Unleashes Vengeance)>>Helmet: Berserker Band (Attack +15, Defense +46)>>Shield: Mythril Armlet (Defense +46, Increases Criticals)>>Cuirass: Feathered Robe (Defense +45, Wind Power +20, Wind Resist +30, Agility +30)>>Boots: Dragon Boots (Defense +13; Earth, Water, and Fire Resist +10 each)>>Ring: Guardian Ring (Defense +4, Max HP +20)>>Shirt: Mythril Shirt (Defense +10, Max HP +5)>>Other: Teleport Lapis, Hover Jade, Cyclone Chip, Halt Gem, and Lash Pebble In short, they are gods. :D I do have some strategy behind their equipment. Mia has the Crown of Glory and Iris Robe so that she recovers 20 PP each turn. Pure Wish costs 20 PP. Issac has riot Gloves and Valkyrie Mail to increase his criticals so that almost every turn he unleashes Megiddo which, is the best one ever (over 1000 damage :P ). Garet has the Cleric's Ring so that even though four of his items are cursed, he is unaffected by it. Ivan has the Feathered Robe to increase his already powerful wind magic and the Mythril Armlet to increase his criticals. While Vengeance isn't as good as Megiddo, it still rocks. The reason I said "up to" is because Vengeance is one of those strange ones that has multiple powers. What happens is a large 2D archer replaces Ivan temporarily and shoots out six arrows consecutively. Depending on how many hit, depends on the damage. miss, miss, hit, miss, miss, hit -- about 200-300 damage; hit, miss, hit, hit, miss, hit -- about 500-600 damage; hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit -- about 900-1000 damage
Povuholo
I love Golden Sun, finished it a couple of times :P I don't remember what level I was, but I could easily beat the final bosses with only the normal attack with the move, and healing psyenergy. No Djinni's, items or other psyenergy. But with your characters you should be able to do this as well. Easily. The first time I finished the game I didn't have all the djinni's (and I didn't import them from the first game) so I didn't get the two best summons. But the second time (and the rest :P) I did. Did you know I made a quest mod loosely based on the two Golden Sun games?
ninja_lord666
Did you know I made a quest mod loosely based on the two Golden Sun games?Yes, It was quite good. However, I found a bug I'm not sure if it's from this mod. Whenever I tried to save in Bravil, the game crashed. I've beaten the game about three times already, I'm just leveling up my characters even more :D I do my leveling in the Sea of Time Islet Cave, because of the wondrous birds they have there. over 8000 experience per kill...Do you know that if you kill a monster with the djinii (spelling?) it's weak against, it gives you more experience, more money, and a higher chance of an item drop? If you kill one of those birds with a water djinii, you get over 1100 xp! I like to take advantage of their "Regen Dance" by finding two of them, killing the first, waiting until the second revives it, rinse and repeat. I do that until the second flees. One time I (presumably) had it trapped so it couldn't escape. I kept killing the first over, and over, and over. Finally, when the second managed to run away, I had amassed over 84000 xp! Mia, Garet, Ivan, Jenna, Sheba, and I think Felix all leveled up from that. Issac and Piers came soon after.
TheTerminator2004
I remember those birds! :D Shame my copy of Golden Sun 2 disappeared- I only had time to complete it once... :( I can't remember my party's stats from the first game, because I can't load my clear data, but it says that Isaac was level 27... (I don't have enough patience to spend hours wandering round leveling up). I'm not quite sure how I managed to beat the final boss, but it took about an hour. Gabbemaster
I still play my Golden Sun 2 that I bought a year ago or something like that. I have been looking for Golden Sun 1 for a while, but it is almost impossible to get a copy of it in Sweden :/ Great game, like a small Morrowind or Oblivion. I have been thinking about the graphic on the maps in the games. How do they do it? With the ability to zoom in and out, and the different "3D" like aspects. My conclusion is that they have some sort of simple 3D engine to control the wordmap. Any comments?

Any comments?I think they simply have great artists. It's still all 2D sprites. You can see that especially during a battle. The character running around outside of battle is extremely well done. It almost looks like a 3D object.
