Very Muddy/Low textures at Ultra?

Is this for real or did i mess something up?

I have reshade+ENB + other mods and mod managers,correctly tweaked my INI's (tweaking ini's since 2008)

but they can't be at fault. So this is the quality at ultra for textures?

Anything made of wood looks TERRIBLE,even the workbench and power-armor look's bad.

Real problem is once you see it,you cannot unsee it,it's everywhere

It certainly doesn't look like Witcher 3. This is really the first time I've had a rig good enough to run a brand new game on utlra and I'm not really disappointed. I guess I have just a lower standard in what I find acceptable. People look weird though.... well people always looked weird in Bethesda games.

Not sure about why the wood seems off but it's odd that quite a lot of the textures are 2048 x 2048 similar sizes to the HD Texture Mods for Skyrim such as 'Book of Silence' armour's and weapons so its not that they have made their usual low res textures for this game. Then you go and look at them as a DDS file and they are very bland and have hardly any colour, poor detailing as well, I've only looked at a few mainly the Raiders sort of stuff to see why they looked so bland in game and it's quite simply the poor quality artwork.

I wouldn't necessarily blame the developer for this. Things like budget, and deadlines play a big role in what gets done and what does not. Things like the textures on a plank is not as important as making sure the mechanics are top notch. Granted attention to detail does lead to making one game stand out over others.

I'll bet that the textures are blown up versions of 1024 x 1024 textures used on the consoles. But I could be wrong I just like to blame consoles for everything wrong with PC games in the last 10 years.

I wonder if the game would play better if one where to half the size of all the textures, and it would not even make the game look much different considering the low quality to start with. Though I can't say much about the quality. I have not had a chance to play the game yet (Damn limited DATA plan) . But I might have to try this if my game plays slow on my old ass PC I built in 2009.

Bethesda are clearly paranoid thier crappy engine wasnt gonna run 60fps on most hardware at Ultra. My 980ti could run this game underclocked to 600mhz no sweat.

God I can't wait for NMC's Fallout 4 texture pack, if he's planning on doing it. I can't run the game on ultra without unacceptable framerates. Usually play on high, 2x AA to stay at 55-60 FPS. I have an outdated GPU however, in the GTX 660 Ti w/ it's 192-bit memory bus. A GTX 970 upgrade is in my future if I want to play this game modded however.

A nice combination of say NMC textures, and "FMIM" (fallout's version of SMIM :P) are desperately needed. :D
