The Misc quests/Errands are a really good way to get some money quick, there's plenty to do in Vivec mostly. Also, people ofte leave certain areas in their houses unguarded ^_^ , this is the perfect opportunity to loot those areas. The money you may get probably will add up yo about 500gp at the most, but after a few houses you can work up a couple of grand quite easily, even if it is a bit time consuming. There's so many house's over morrowind that Robbing them is usualy plentiful. Quetion: Do items respawn after a certain time? I haven't got arround to testing this yet.

Items don't respawn. However, if you find a barrel or crate and don't like what you see, make sure not to touch or remove anything, and come back later. I've done this and found that the items change, sometimes for the better (ie, I'll wait until it has a soul gem or a magic item). But once you remove something, that's it--it stays gone, and the items that are left behind don't change.

Pity. Though I got told by one of the NPC's on little advice (I believe that he was a theif) that once you've theived one town well, you should move on to another town to let the people restock what you've stoen (eg. clothes, food etc.). But perhaps I just imagined this? Well, maybe soon, I'll get arround to gatting MW on PC, along with TESCS, and see if I can make a mod for certain things to respawn, like some of the Items that traders sell respawn after you terminate Bartering.

As far as I know all trading stuff is restocked after 24 hours. I don't know if there may be one or two specialist items that don't but otherwise they will. Be careful when thieving to remember who you have stolen from. E.g. steal the diamond from Nalcayra don't try to sell her ANY diamond. You will be arrested.

In response to Naerc's idea, there are already many items that are automatically respawned once you exit the barter window. Search the forum for posts about negative object counts and all will be explained.

IIRC, all objects that are owned by a specific NPC and all organic containers respawn their inventories (Or, in the case of NPC-owned items, completely respawn) one month after their inventories have been changed (Or an item has been displaced). This may also apply to faction-owned items.

The only thing restocked within 24 hours is an NPC's bartering gold.

I have searched for 'negative object' and got no hits. I haven't found objects respawning in the barter window when you simply exit and re-open the dialogue box. But certainly I can buy 5 healing potions from Sharn gra-Muzgob in the mages guild every twenty-four hours, I do it all the time!

I've never had to rest to get lots of potions from her or the healer in the mournhold temple, i just buy it then imediatly go to barter again and they are restocked. I can also do this with the balmora mages guild enchanter for divine and alsami intervention scrolls, and the encanter in mournhold for golden saint scrolls and grand soul gems. come to think of it, these are the only people I ever "buy" things from. for everything else I either steal/loot/find it while wandering around the island.

If you check a NPC's inventory in the editor any item of a -# will automaticaly restock each time you barter with them. a item without a -# is gone forever once it is sold and will never be restocked.

Starting tips:

- Do the starting quests around Seyda Neen. There is the dead tax collector and finding Fargoth's hiding place, both of which give you a decent amount of cash. You can also find decent loot in the nearby smugglers cave.

- Even if you are in no hurry to do the main quest, at least talk to Caius and get the free cash off him. He will also direct you to three Blades Trainers in Balmora. If you talk to each trainer about "Blades Trainers" they will give you some free items, which you can keep or sell. Then do the first major part of the quest, which involves exploring the dwemer ruins near Fort Moonmoth. The foes you will meet in the ruins are pretty weak, compared to the foes you would find in any other dwemer ruin. But the rewards are huge. Even at a low level, you will probably find several precious stones, a ton of dwemer coins and some dwemer weapons or armor. Be sure to have some way to open locks and disarm traps. Also, make sure you explore very carefully because there are at least two hidden chests and a fairly hard to spot dwemer weapon. You do not have to progress any further on the main quest if you do not want.

- If you can join the mages guild, do as many quests for Ajira as you can before selling all the loot you found at the dwemer ruins. Her quests do not involve combat and you will increase your disposition with all the traders in the guild. One of her quests gives you the opportunity to steal some very valuable items, if you are so inclined.

- If you use mysticism, you can purchase the spell Rightiousness in Fort Pelagiad or Fort Moonmoth for about 50 drakes. It is an absorb health spell that costs way less magicka to cast than any absorb health spell you could make with a spellmaker. You can use it very easily against rats, cliff racers and any other annoying critters you meet on your early travels.

- The best investment for your first 2000 or so drakes is to buy ingrediants to make potions of restore health and restore magicka. Those potions will make your life much much easier. You can even make very cheap potions of restore fatigue which you can then sell for a big profit. All the potion ingrediants can be bought in Balmora, and you can pick up alchemy equipment for free at the Caldera Mages Guild. (Even if your character does not steal, you can still use the alchemy equipment and put it back because it is clearly there for any mages guild member to use.)

Personally whenever I play a character, I opt for alchemy over say... athletics, for that "Useless Slot." The reason why? First I goto Caldera and steal the Master's Alchemy Set at the mages guild. The alchemist there sells the supplies to make Water Breathing Potions. It costs anywhere from 10-15 to make 5 water breathing potions depending on your personality and mercantile. Also he restocks the supplies if you goto barter immediately after buying them. After I am nearly over burdened I run to the creeper and use the Master's Set to make as many water breathing potions as I can, usually near the beginning you only succeed 1 out of every 3 or 4. But each water breathing potions is worth 67-140 (Depending on skill, up to 165ish with GM's Alchemy Set) providing a large profit, I spent a few hours doing this (was boring), and ended up with 100 alchemy and about 300-400k in my pocket, as well as a few level ups and a near max intelligence.
