[Bug][Help] Conversation -> Fight scenario enemies cannot be killed

The issue I encounter is when Geralt engages in combat with people after having a conversation (e.g. stopping bandits from hurting a villager), the following happens:

  • enemy standing still, I cannot damage them, they are normal level, level 0 or level -1 or
  • enemy standing still, I can damage them and even do finishing moves but their HP wont drop below 1 and wont die but combat ceases, no loot or anything

I tried reloading and there are a few changes to the situation. PS. Tried removing all mods and try then, but same thing happens. See this screenshot but beware of sidequest spoiler

The mods I have are the following:

  • Better Combat Evolved (issue started happening before mod install, doubt this is the cause)
  • Lore-friendly witchers
  • Jump in Shallow Water
  • No Books Weight
  • Preparations
  • Quen Duration Buff
  • Turbolighting
  • Weathered Geralt

The only compatibility issues I had with mods was between Preparations and BCE which was solved via Script Merger but that was after I encountered this bug, so it should not be relevant.

Before I encountered the issue, I used to have TandM but after encountering the bug, I uninstalled the mod, but it seems the issue stayed. It may or may not be related to the TandM mod but it's worth mentioning.

I'd appreciate it if someone could give me any advice on how to solve this issue. Thank you in advance for your help.

Having looked over your mod list the only two candidates for the issue would be TandM or BCE. However I tend to doubt that BCE is it. Suggest dropping back to a save prior to TandM since it's changes could be baked into your saves. If it is baked into your saves then just removing the mod will not achieve anything.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll do that and see if it works. I'll report back asap.

Edit: I tried what you've suggested but it wont work, issue remains the same. Any other ideas?

Edit 2: In the end, I reinstalled the game, it works now. No idea what caused the issue as its 100% it wasnt the mods folder.
